This might divide opinion, but I would definitely put Billie Eilish near the top of my list!

Oh and I'd have to put one-tone Michael Buble in there too!

Wow, so many fussy listeners, so you dont like anything by those artists you mention, because you cant stand their vocals? Wow! Certain songs by certain artists might annoy me, Wuthering heights - Kate Bush, Whitney - I will always love you, but I'd never dismiss all of their stuff, because their vocals vary.

Calm down, nobody said anything about hating everything an artist has ever recorded. The question was about disliking vocals, not entire back catalogues.

It can also be you don't like their vocals on one song but think it works well on a different song.
I can't imagine it would work for Rod Stewart to sing opera or an opera singer to do Maggie May. Different vocal styles work for different types of music.

Ok, an example of a song I like but is slightly ruined by the vocal on it and that is "Sail On" by the Commodores. When I first heard it, it was pretty much "why is he singing it that way?"

Gabriella Cilmi is a great shout.
Brian Johnson from AC/DC.

Anyone's, if they've been vocodered to anonymity/pain.

I did think Brian Johnson wasn't as good a vocalist as Bon Scott but also that You Shook Me All Night Long which was the first single with Brian Johnson was AC/DC's best ever song and his voice doesn't spoil it as it suits that particular song.
Ok at this point I have to throw in Monika Wilagos - as I was discussing with Julieta (who appears in the video for Come Back To Me) about a week ago and she agreed is simply not a good singer and that's the worst thing about that song. (She wasn't that keen on the video itself either).

This is true - You Shook Me is the only AC/DC song I like.

I completely agree with Andy. Some of these answers are ridiculous. Excluding soap stars trying cashing on a novelty/charity single ... I'd say my least favourite singers who made millions when they could not sing are:
Cheryl Cole
Geri Halliwell
Whilst most of the vintage (1960s/70s) pop stars (bar Tom Jones & Shirley Bassey) should pack it in as they've lost it vocally.
One pop star whose voice peaked in the mid-late 1990s, whom I've seen three times in concert (1987, 1993, 2001), really should have packed it in with the release of the 2CD Celebration Best of with her legacy intact; as since then she has become an abject embarrassment, and her remaining fanbase continue to defend the indefensible since then:
Madonna

Gabriella Cilmi is a great shout. Sweet About Me should have been a great record, but it's like there are two different people singing the song. I still like it, but listen sparingly as that off key verse and chorus is hard work. On A Mission I love, however.

I feel like I've been told off for answering a thread. It's just a bit of fun - loads of people can't really sing but have still made some great records - Billy Bragg and Bob Dylan for example.

Many who can't sing but have made good music and a career in singing it anyway, Billy Bragg the primary example.
Tom Waits fits into that category too and definitely Mark E Smith (he was lead singer of the Fall, for those not aware)

Geri Halliwell shouldn't have been mentioned in this thread, especially with my favourite her single.

I think the name of the thread may need tweaking, as it seems many of us are answering a different question. I propose it should be: "Your least favourite voice in music" Because vocal range and ability isn't really that subjective, some singers definitely do have far better / weaker voices, objectively speaking. But anywhere on that spectrum, a singer may have a voice which just grates on some, and doesn't with others. Mariah Carey being the best example of this. Objectively speaking, a very talented vocalist. But that whistle-tone is sure as hell going to sound like nails down a chalk board to many.
