So you can't name any. Why shouldn't male and female artists compete against each other? There are good reasons why male and female sprinters have separate races. There is no good reason why there should be separate women's events for things like chess or backgammon. There are qualitative differences between the male and female voices. They sometimes even fulfil different functions. I don't see the point of throwing 50% of the population under the bus when the law on gender is perfectly clear.

I'm not against gender neutral categories per se but they made a big mistake last year by only having five nominees and thereby turning something that was intended to be more inclusive into something that actually meant fewer artists got recognised. That's gone a step further this year with the all-male lineup. Personally, I'm in the camp that they should never have changed from having separate best male & best female categories
Just like with most physical sports there is a clear difference between a male & a female vox, so there is certainly far less need to join the two categories together than for acting or other showbiz awards:
The 4 standard male vocal ranges are:
1. Countertenor 2. Tenor 3. Baritone 4. Bass
Whilst the 3 standard female vocal ranges are:
1. Soprano 2. Mezzo Soprano 3. Contralto
For example the nominees for this category easily could have been:
Florence + the Machine - Florence Welch went to number one with her fifth album Dance Fever in May Charli XCX - Crash album also topped the charts. Mabel - the 2020 best British female winner's album About Last Night reached UK #2, although it didn't produce any big hit singles Rina Sawayama - her second album Hold The Girl went to UK #3, and got great critical acclaim. Ella Henderson - a top 10 album, and appeared on two top 10 singles and was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in 2022.
.... still arguably the UK female artist of the year who should have been picking up the Best female BRIT Award thanks to the Deluxe release of her Prioritise Pleasure album, has instead been getting abuse for getting into a twitter argument over these awards by over zealous LGBT right on supporters, when Rebecca herself is bi-sexual sums up the whole farce perfectly.

Yes Self Esteem would have been a great pick and agree it is just typical behaviour of the Twitter hordes, both extremes are as bad as each other. And anyone who has balanced opinions gets hate from sections of both of them.

One problem with the category is the nomination criteria. Surely it should be best rather than which label has paid the most to get their pet on Spotify playlists?
OH I SEE THE PROBLEM NOW
