Surprise new album from the Glasgow band, released last Friday!
Not sure how I feel about this one after one playthrough, though the new single is a total Euro-style dance pop banger:

Overall, really disappointing. I'm trying hard, but there's just nothing here to interest me. Could be their blandest album.

I actually might have enjoyed listening to this marginally more than I did A Bit of Previous, though I will say that after one listen I have no memory of any of the songs except the single (though that could just be my memory ) The singles from the last album were all great, though. It's entirely possible that I may just not like this band as much as I used to.

I am not as into the Belle & Sebastian when they are jaunty and silly, much prefer them when they are darker, introspective and emotional, I guess the first three albums and the 4 EPs. They are pretty hit and miss for me now.

I quite enjoyed it, and found it very accessible, and very poppy in places. Think it may be the above single I heard and thought my son would like this and why isn't it in the charts, which is maybe why a few people dont like it as much. Going to try and listen to both albums back to back and see what I think.

I liked it, I mean there is nothing here that will trouble their 20 best songs but I like 4 or 5 of them

I actually found the latest album better than last year's, far more accessible and catchy. I dont really know their old stuff, they kind of passed me by, but will go listen and see what I think.
