Haven darling Belinda Carlisle next up for me, supported by The Christians. First time I'll have seen either live.

Had my first gig of 2023 last night.
My first time at the Live Lounge at The Kings Theatre in Kirkcaldy despite it being a 30 min walk from my house. Cracking venue too, with a good sound system. Reasonable price too with Jack D and Coke £4. Ticket was only £5
Opening band was "Burn The Maps" who were a last minute stand in for "Thirteen". Excellent set from the Fife rockers who I would have paid to see as the main act. Great rock from the guys.
2nd support was a band called "The Goatboy" A 3 piece band who are a grunge rock / punkesque band from Perth.
Main act was "Dolarhyde" a 5 piece heavy rock band from Edinburgh. Fantastic band who played their own material with the exception of the last song which was Nirvana's "Territorial Pissings"
£5 for 3 bands a no brainer, but to actually see the 3 perform was an excellent night, and definitely be back to this venue.

Sounds like a good gig madmurray! I'm vaguely aware of Dolarhyde - quite like this one:

My local theatre has got a cracker in David Arcari at the King's Live Lounge Kirkcaldy on March 24th.
Fantastic guitarist.
A good coup for the venue

Gigs 2023

Had a good night last night through at Bannermans in Edinburgh for my 2nd gig of the year watching Blackfyre Rising, Novustory and Loz Campbell.
For me, Novustory were the band of the night.
Fantastic set from Imogen, Ducky and Ben with Imogens energy on stage and crowd participation which included mixing in with the crowd, kept everyone glued to the band. Even the chemistry between the 3 on stage was evident and shows a band who put their all into their music and are destined for bigger things.
Their setlist had the correct mix of songs, with for me, "I'm Never Gonna Fit In" and "Monster" being the stand out but a setlist that didn't have a weak song.
For me, Novustory deserve and should be the main headline acts at gigs and not support as they were last night.
They also deserve a much bigger crowd than they had last night and I am sure, this will come as they have all the correct ingredients for a band who are destined to be massive.
I'm just glad I was there to see them again last night. Twice now and they go from strength to strength.

The Suede gig at Brixton Academy has been rescheduled for December. They filled the unexpected gap in their schedule with a date in Bexhill so that’s where I am. After all, I haven’t seen them since Monday.

Download was like the replacement for Monsters of Rock wasn't it after that fell on it's arse? I was there in 1987 with hot female company, and boy it was chaotic roughness!
