DEBUTS: The top debut is the Funky House jam "Get Away" by Larry Funk. It's mostly a " Walking Into Sunshine" sample project with a few lyrics from " Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" thrown in. Both tracks are from 1982 (Central Line, Indeep). A track from the past has been re-released to a new Dance crowd, and I can see why. The mellow-ish rhythms are more in tune with today's Contemporary House sound than when first released. Remixer Groove Assasin really gives "Let It Go" by Afterlife & Cathy Battistessa its legs! TheDjLawyer returns to the chart with a 2023 remake and update of the Disco hit " Native New Yorker" by Odyssey (1979). In his newest version, the lyrics are out the window (it's an instrumental)!
