I hope I do an OK job of explaining this... here goes. Lately I'm finding that I'm getting more out of songs, and particularly lyrics, than ever because I'm relating songs to my own personal experiences. Anyway, I've recently found myself listening to a few songs and thinking 'that could have been written about me!', because the lyrics are so close to events in my life, people I know etc. Does anyone else find this happening? I'd love to hear some of the music that people relate to. Here are 3 songs that feel like they were written about me: Editors - The Weight Of The World James Blunt - Cry Travis - Selfish Jean (seriously!) I hope this generates some discussion, its a topic that interests me. Hope its not too strange a topic for you all!!!

The Smashing Pumpkins "Muzzle"
This song is simply astonishing... In everyway, and lyrically its amazing... I can relate to it 100%
This is the best song to define the Pumpkins... Positive, and progresses until it reaches a triumphant climax at the end...

There are a few I would say i relate to.
Editors - The Weight Of The World Editors - when anger shows.
But the one I relate to the most is. The killlers - This river is wild. This song describes my life, that I feel it was written for me

The time Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One was released, i thought that the song was meant to me as i was in the same situation lyrically.

The songs I have associated with strongly link to relationships - which is probably quite common. In the charts when I met my first love - 'Tonight I celebrate My Love' and when it all fell apart "I Know Him So Well" More recently -Robbie Williams "The Trouble With You" echoed in many ways a conversation my ex had with me

I know this looks like a random bump, but I got here because of looking for relevant keywords: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi9YYFCQAYElyricstranslate.com/en/mr-antipatiko-mr-antipathetic.html"Since the first time, I've already admired you I won't deny your appeal is so strong But I was surprised by your attitude Oh well, maybe it was just that You weren't in the mood That's why I just let it pass so there won't be any trouble Oh but why are you so snobbish? Why are you so antipathetic? What really is your problem? Oh so mysterious, I can't read you clearly But I'll admit I have fallen for you Let's be honest with each other, oh Mr. Antipathetic I'm always by your side, willing to help you But sometimes I just can't figure out your persistence Oh no, I didn't know you were also shallow A childish boy that looks like a monster You're amusing too sometimes A sadistic gentleman, but sometimes serious Oh why are you so confusing?" Because I have a crush on one of my online haters.

Here is a cheeky one that most blokes could be the reference.
Not sure all memebers will have a sense of humour though

This is a brilliant idea for a thread, I've been a regular on Haven since 2010 and was amazed to see this pop up full of people I'd never heard of.
I always think Billy Bragg's Between The Wars perfectly sums up the way I think, especially...
"I kept the faith and I kept on voting Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand For theirs is a land with a wall around it Mine is a faith in my fellow man Theirs is a land of hope and glory Mine is the green field and the factory floor Theirs is a sky all dark with bombers Mine is the peace we had between the wars"
I am, in my heart, a hopelessly idealistic socialist who loves to meet and learn about different people. I also absolutely love Britain, and have, in a very literal interpretation of the lyrics, spent a lot of time over the years both in green fields and on factory floors.

Hello! I love that there seems to be lots of new members on here lately! If you paste the link into the box that pops up when you click on the clapperboard icon thingy in the Create Post box then everyone can see what your video is before clicking on it. Only seems to work on PCs though, not phones. I've done it for you below. Still never worked out how to post pictures, mind!

I still see Indieelectronica on Lastfm. He had great taste as did Yeahyeahtron. Most of my PM's from2005 ish are from Indieelectronica, always about music, I remember around the same time he organised a cd swap, I will have to see if I can find out who took part for nostalgia
