Yay, we'd be in the play-offs!
I'm not sure we'll be there at the end of the season, but we do look stronger than last season, so I don't expect us to fall outside the top 12.

This thread has been sorely neglected!! UEFA- Aston Villa (Do we only get one place in UEFA? I've never UEFA Cup allocations: > 1 for the FA Cup winners (or the finalists if the cup winners finish top 4) > 1 for the League Cup winners > 1 for the highest placed league team not already in Europe (5th place, generally) If both FA Cup finalists finish top 4, then the place goes to the next league team, and if the League cup winners also finish top 4, then the place goes to the next team in the league. So last season, West Ham (9th) got the FA cup place, as Liverpool finished top 4... Man Utd won the league cup, so an extra place became available for the 6th placed team (Blackburn)... and Spurs got the spot for finishing 5th. There's also an Inter-Toto cuo spot available, which is how Newcastle (7th) got in.

There is a fair play thing but I think it's something stupid like every European leagues "best" fair-play team is put into a hat and one is drawn out. If the fairest Premiership team are already in Europe then England don't get a chance...

The fact that we are sh*te, our squad gets smaller each season, while our chairman's, I mean chief executive's villa gets bigger each season. And we play Pompey tonight, and either ther lacklustre players will raise thier game and provide an upset and more money for the leech of a CExec, or we will get tanked like we have never been tanked before!

that they're a sh*t team.
They supposedly have a "tough" group in the UEFA cup. Hey - call that tough? Didn't they want to be in the Champions League?
I think I saw they have Bayer Leverkusen in their group - Berbatov against his old team, if he's fit.
