Group 1: CONGO 2-3 TOGO But it was all in vain as Togo came from 2-1 down to get the win they needed to seal their first qualification. Senegal, quarter-finalists in 2002, are out of the World Cup.

Group 4: RWANDA 0-1 ANGOLA Fabrice Akwa's goal was enough to give Angola a place in the finals for the first time. Nigeria's heroics weren't enough and they miss out for the first time since 1990.

Although watching a World Cup without Nigeria and Cameroon in attendance will be strange... Indeed. Morocco currently lead Tunisia 2-1 and if it stays like that it'll mean all 5 African teams who played in 2002, will miss out on the 2006 finals.
