I dont think that individuals that are in a team should win the individual award, it was a team effort to win the ashes and the european cup, not flintoff or gerard. So it should only be open to selfish b*st*rds who are only doing it for themselves?

Why on earth was Andy Murray in the Top 6?
I wanted to vote for Zara Phillips.

Why on earth was Andy Murray in the Top 6? It's not everyday you get a young promising British tennis player that comes from nowhere to end the year inside the top 70 Similarly did Beth Tweddle get a mention at all? Why Federer or Alonso didn't win the international award escapes me...

British gymnast who again has come from a country which has not got a great gymnastics reputation to be one of the best in the world, she's ranked no 1 in the bars and came 4th in the world championships recently

Why Federer or Alonso didn't win the international award escapes me... Federer won it last year so they probably didn't want to give it to him again. Racing drivers have a very poor record in this award. Niki Lauda is the only one to have won it. Shane Warne was as good as Flintoff in the Ashes. Without him, England could have won 4 or 5-0.

Sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey wins the Young Sports Personality award. Oh, silly me, I read your predictions as fact mrh! That's understandable... My prediction for Walcott to win wasn't my preference. It was based on the fact that award was voted for by viewers of some kids' TV programme...
