FIFA have been sitting round a table deciding suspensions and stuff.
Wayne Rooney has been banned for 2 games after his red card against Portugal.
Argentina's Leandro Cufre has been banned for 4 games for his part in the brawl after the penalty shoot-out against Germany.
Maxi Rodriguez has been banned for 2 games for his part in the same incident.

Why does Rooney get a 2 match ban when had England progressed he would have been banned for just 1 match? Does he serve this ban in the qualifiers or in Euro 2008 if England qualify or in the 2010 World Cup?

well given he's retired, I doubt Zidane's ban will mean very much.
