Boston United are therefore the "worst" team in that their highest position is the lowest of all. A team that should never have been in the league in the first place.
However, that is on the basis that one considers Divisions 3 N and S as the third tier rather than as jointly the third and fourth. Otherwise Thames Association's 20th in 3S would be the lowest peak; equivalent of 19th in the 4th.

So Burton will get a new peak, but will they stay up? Hull look unlikely to beat their best of 16th, and might not get another chance next season! Fleetwood are well on course to beat their best of 10th, currently 3rd. And Bournemouth should beat their best of 16th!

We bid a fond far farewell to Hartlepool and Leyton orient, and welcome back Lincoln City and either Tranmere Rovers, or new boys Forest Green!
Fleetwood's new peak was 4th, and they're in the playoffs for promotion to the Championship, Burton survived for another season at level 2, finishing 20th.
Hull and Bournemouth still have games left to alter their positions and peaks.

A big peak for Forest Green this season. Bournemouth needs updating in the first post (9th in 16/17). Not sure there's any other peaks to be added...

A new peak for Wycombe Wanderers this season and guaranteed another one next season!

Possible peaks for this season:
Wycombe (guaranteed, wherever they finish) Morecambe (matching their peak as it stands but could beat it if they win their final game) Salford (guaranteed) Harrogate (guaranteed)

I just noticed that Brighton have never finished higher than 13th in the top flight, is that correct? So they could get a new peak after all this time? Cheltenham got a new peak, along with Sutton, Forest Green and Morecambe, all the "new" teams.

The club's top-flight points record is also still achievable - currently 52 points (from 42 games).

I see the first post has already been updated.
New peaks for Forest Green and Salford. Brighton can still beat theirs again for the second season in a row. Cheltenham missed out on equalling their peak by one place.

Yes, I've been trying to update this, the Scottish one and the Conference one, and I always appreciate a prod in the right direction

Is it just Harrogate that look set to get a new peak? Bournemouth and Brighton a little too low to get new peaks?

Looks like it. Stevenage close as well but probably too many points to make up.

Guaranteed a new team on the list next season. Barnet were the only previous FL club left in the National League playoffs but lost 4-0 to Solihull Moors today. One of Solihull, Bromley or Altrincham will be promoted to League Two.

From a selfish point of view, I'd prefer it to be Altrincham as that's the nearest to me But also they won this league for two years running when there was no promotion, so they should kind of be in the FL already. Founded in 1891. Bromley founded in 1892 play on a 3g pitch, so assume they will pull that up like Harrogate did if they are promoted? Small ground of 5000, a bit like Solihull Moors who I think have a capacity of 5500. Moors are in the FA Trophy final with Gateshead as well, so there could be two trips to Wembley for them! Which means I've jinxed Altrincham and Solihull Moors now, and Bromley are certs for promotion

A shame for Barnet, 2nd in the league by a long distance then somehow got thrashed at home in a play-off.
I actually think they should change it to 3 up 3 down with 2 up automatically and not have rules that barred Gateshead from competing in the play-offs - I remember when they did something like that in the 1990s I think it was a few times.

When it happened in the 90s, it was because the actual grounds didn't meet Football League standards. Macclesfield, Kidderminster and Stevenage were all denied promotion.
