Australia end Day 2 119-1, we have no chance now! Oh dear, and a wicket on the 1st ball, and we cant capitalise, poor, very poor, shall we start taking bets on what we will be skittled out for in our next innings? I'm going for 100.

and to think we didn't choose Panesar cos he couldn't bat how ironic well I think we can safely say the historic urn is going to leave us in the next 48 hours. The 5th day just won't happen now

Yeah, I saw that panesar and harmison put on 30 at the end to make it respectable, shame the rest of the batting could not hold out as well. Pietersen got out going for glory, was it the right time to do that, and who was it that was given out when they clearly weren't

We've become a joke team! DO we get to have a go at the Aussies on our turf next year, or is it every 2 years?

We've become a joke team! DO we get to have a go at the Aussies on our turf next year, or is it every 2 years? It's supposed to be every 2 years, except it goes 1.5 years, then 2.5 years because of the Aussie summer. That means the next Ashes series will be in England in 2009.

West Indies at home should be winnable, surely? I do think the aussies may struggle when they lose warne and mcgrath.

we've gone all to pot just in time for the World Cup ;D Even if we'd retained the Ashes, we'd have absolutely no chance in the World Cup. We should make the second round as 8 teams will go through this time instead of 6 but we won't get any further than that. In our group we have New Zealand (we'll lose), Kenya (we should win but Kenya did make the semi-finals last time) and Canada (should win).

We have won, does this mean we finish above NZ now? Maybe the aussies felt sorry for us, like a sympathy shag

We still need to beat New Zealand to play in the final, but the bonus point we picked up today should assure we can finish above them with a victory!
