Maidenhead Utd Women v AFC Bournemouth Women, at York Road, Maidenhead, some time earlier this season. This place has a part of footballing history though. The first-ever FA Cup First Round matches included one here; the home side beating (Great) Marlow 2-0. Constant football use since 1871.

It's got two names. The Leoforas Alexandros and the Apostolos Nikolaides Stadium. Dunno why, I think one is the official name, but the other is the nickname after the dude who actually built it. Anyhoo, it's obviouslh Panathinaikos, which translates as Athenian United. One of the most successful clubs in Greece, the first to reach a European final, although Champions League money has meant Olympiakos from Piraeus have been utterly dominant for the past two decades with the unfair advantage that bonus has given them. What's rather remarkable about this pic is what you can't see. Behind me is a series of extremely decrepit apartment blocks, all basically condemned, but nobody has been able to knock them down, because they're full of squatting junkies. And literally two minutes up the road is the Supreme Court. It's a bizarre conglomeration of contrasts.

#61 Stockport v Swindon today. Finished 1-1 after a fairly uneventful 1st half the game kicked into life when Swindon took the lead from long range and Stockport looked poor and unable to make any breakthrough and then they had a man sent off for a stamp, which I sadly missed even though it was in front of me. I think it's more likely he trod on the player, but I will see what the highlights show later. Amazingly this spurred Stockport to go and get an equaliser, and their fans wanted them to go for the winner, despite being down to 10 men Over 8000 there and 700 came up from Swindon which is a brilliant effort! It is now 8 years since I saw a home team win, hoping to do Stevenage v Sutton in a couple of weeks and I hope the not winning streak continues. Then maybe an FA Cup game, and also Bristol City v Lincoln in the league cup. Top to bottom my last 12 grounds. Stockport 1-1 with Swindon Ipswich 1-2 with West Ham U23s Barrow 1-1 with Bristol Rovers Crewe 1-1 against the Stags Carlisle 0-2 against the Stags Grimsby 1-2 with Morecambe Tranmere 0-1 with Newport Blackpool 1-1 with Accrington Arsenal was in the Emirates Cup, so saw two games Reading was The Big Match for charity Liverpool was the Hillsborough Memorial game Southampton beat Burnley 4-2 in the FA Cup I've since added Stevenage (1-0 win over Hartlepool), Salford (2-0 over Sutton) & Peterborough (0-3 loss to Cheltenham) Hoping to get to Colchester v Mansfield in May, and later in the same month Villa Ladies vs Liverpool Ladies at Villa Park, which will lift me to 66 grounds, but then we look like losing Rochdale and Hartlepool, but could gain Wrexham/Notts County? So I'd stay on 66 at least. Have to look for pre-season friendlies & stayovers to get me up to 70 grounds.

Done Scarborough Athletic's new ground 3-3 (att.2700), Colchester v Stags 0-2 (att.6910) and Villa v Liverpool Ladies also 3-3 (att.7517) Spotted Portsmouth are playing Bristol City in a friendly in late July, might try and get down there for a few days. Also 1st weekend of the season coincides with 1st round of league cup, so if I could get two teams near each other at home on those days, I could go and spend 3 days down somewhere and do two grounds

4 potential new ones in our division next season - Macclesfield, Basford, Ilkeston and Bradford Park Avenue. Might see if I can get any other new ones in during preseason.

This is a sad one. Keys Park, Hednesford. Hednesford Town have just announced that a rescue package to save the club from financial doom has failed and therefore they won't be competing in 2023–24. Could be the end of a club that was once 95th in the country, and which was 5 minutes from a 4th round FA Cup replay with Middlesbrough.

#67 Cheltenham v Birmingham pre season friendly 2-3. #68 Wycombe v Cardiff pre season friendly, only my 4th 0-0 in 101 ground visits and my first in 12 years! Next week, Swansea and Cardiff in the league cup against Gillingham and Northampton I think? Takes me to a nice rounded total of 70/92, happy with that!

#69 Swansea v Northampton, comfortable 3-0 win with a wonder goal at the end. Just under 7000 there. #70 Cardiff v Colchester, Cardiff were 2-0 up and comfortable, and then let Colchester back into it at 2-2, 2nd half fizzled out and Cardiff won the pen shootout 3-0, 5500 there I think? Having a rest while I watch Mansfield and Knaresborough a bit, but Watford, Swindon, Portsmouth and the two Bristols are on my radar, 3 of which I could do with midweek games in the EFL trophy if I can sort out somewhere to stay nearby Also considering Sutton next year, and travelling down on the Harrogate Town bus to tick that one off and not drive

Scene of today's World Cup Final, Stadium Australia. At the time I visited, it was preparing to host a cricket match. Note the retractable seats on the opposite side of the pitch.

RIP Nuneaton Borough. One of the biggest non-league teams when their ground was near the town centre. Plummeted when they sold up and moved to Liberty Way some distance from it.
