I thought they were 5pm and 7,30 each night? I'll have to check the paper Well they said on the BBC3 highlights show after the Ivory Coast match on Tuesday night that the Ivory Coast quarter-final was on at 8.30pm. Seems late but i'd be inclined to believe them Just checked on the BBC site, here you go Sunday, 03 February 2008 Ghana v Nigeria, Quarter Final, 17:00 Ivory Coast v Guinea, Quarter Final, 20:30 Monday, 04 February 2008 Egypt v Angola, Quarter Final, 17:00 Tunisia v Cameroon, Quarter Final, 20:30

Cheers Trod, that is late, will try and watch the 1st one at 5pm with Sam. Could be interesting, let's hope teams try to play to win and not go for pens.

Guinea never really got going, but at 1-0 it could maybe have gone either way and then Ivory Coast blitzed them! Good goals as well, the 1st and Drogba's, I missed the last 2 as I went to bed at 10pm

Angola out 2-1, shocking to see them shoving the ref when he awarded the penalty, 2 of them could have been sent off for that easily. Egyptians didn't impress me though, should be ok for ivory coast to get their revenge.

Expected Ivory Coast to win easily, that tie looked to be the most straightforward of all the quarter-finals. I still can't see past them for the title. In fact they're even stronger favourites now than they were before imo, think they're head and shoulders above everyone else, particularly with Drogba in form.
The only one of the quarter-finals i watched was Cameroon-Tunisia. Only saw a bit of the 1st half but surprised it went to extra-time, Cameroon looked clearly the better team from what i saw. Massive match against Ghana next, would like them to win but have to fancy the hosts.

Tunisia must have got a latesish equaliser then? Didn't look likely as I went to bed at 10.05pm.

Did you not see it, he pushed over one of the medical staff for some bizarre reason who was treating one of his own players, assume he thought he was rushing their "injured" player, it was Bikey, who will now miss the final, what an eejit! Dull game really, wish both had gone for it, or we'd had an early goal, at least the late goal prevented another 30 minutes of the dirge. And what is going on with the pitch, it was playing football on a shagpile carpet, the ball was slowing down like it was a waterlogged pitch.

And what is going on with the pitch, it was playing football on a shagpile carpet, the ball was slowing down like it was a waterlogged pitch. Didn't see the match either, though by the sounds of it I didn't miss much! Hoping BBC3 will show the highlights during their coverage of the 2nd semi tonight. Bikey has been sent off twice in his Reading career. Firstly he got sent off while on trial during the summer of 2006 for a headbutt. Coppell was planning on signing him permanently but that ill-discipline meant that Bikey was forced to prove himself on a season's loan. The second red card was only a few months later for two rash challenges in that infamous game against Chelsea at the Mad Stad. I thought Coppell had managed to sort out his discipline since then, but clearly not. The text I got from the club said the red card was for pushing an official, which sounds worse. I'm slightly worried this may have ramifications for us, though as Coppell wouldn't play him anyway it probably wouldn't matter much. After the surprise result in the 1st semi there could be a shock in the 2nd semi as well, Egypt leading Ivory Coast 1-0 at half-time.

They have an excellent record in this competition. They just never seem to get the job done in the World Cup.
