Hi rubcale
I think about 1/2 of Cliff's number ones make my shortlist.
Maybe if I do some points scoring I can feed you little snippets of which tracks are leading the pack - kinda like a midweek - before the big unveiling.
;D

As you will know from another forum we are both in , rewardman, I am quite partial to Saviour's Day. lol I think when you finally get yours done you should dedicate it to the Mods of that Board!

Not a competitor board though you would be most welcome if you promise to play nice with the other kids

Ok
wee update based on some early pairs comparison work
limited inputs so plenty of room for change - in fact its guaranteed
so far Cliff has
#8, #10, #13, #14, #22, #29, and #81
Like I say I have a lot more work to do so some songs are artificially low as they have not been paired off against some of the weaker songs as yet and so they will improve their scores in due course and climb higher.
The Cliff ones at 13 and below may well fall accordingly. #81 may climb up a bit.
Time will tell.

Just to say that you'll see very few songs from the nineties and noughties in my list
I prefer the tried and tested classics that have stood the test of time

Despite my inherent resentment of any act that deprives Cliff of the No. 1 spot, Human League are in the top 50 so far

I am intrigued to see which of the Cliff #1s will make it - if any of them be the "lesser" known ones. I think it fair to say that younger members will probably have heard Living Doll, Congratulations or The Young Ones but maybe not I Love You or The Minute You're Gone. With the #1s the better known ones are my favourites although overall I prefer many of his other tracks. Fav of all Ocean Deep, absolute bungle by EMI, this really had #1 potential. Although they had both faded by the time I was taking an interest in pop music I always preferred the Stones to the Beatles and yay for Hero - Enrique Iglesias, super record. We didn't really get info. on sales figures to the same extent then but I have always wondered just how far ahead of Daddy's Home, Don't You Want Me was.

in those days the #1 was regularly selling double the #1
I believe Don't Yo Want me sold over 1 million which seems to make sense as I put Daddy's Home at the 500k mark
