ooooooh 19-11 19 Foreigner - I Wanna Know What Love IsMore from Lou Gramm this time the day job, a rare US & UK no1 for a soft rock ballad, probably helped by their involvement in US Live Aid. A true epic and the hairs on the back of neck are standing up just heraing it now 18 Danny Wilson - Mary's PrayerHurrah a Scottish band ain't had one for awhile, this song was a no1 in my chart twice, the first time it missed the UK top 75 but was a Scottish top 40 hit, then it was released to top 20? success in US, a couple of months later it was re-issued in Uk and eventually it reached no3 in the charts, spending 18 weeks on the top 75. Brilliant pop record Gary from the band has gone on to write many hits for other artists including Natalie Imbruglia's 'Wrong Impression' 17 Human League - HumanAlmost two in a row for the Human League, but this Jam & Lewis produced US no1 just got pipped, ooh it sounds fantastic loud hehe Shame they never reached the heights of this single since although I think 'Tell Me When' in the 90s came close, 16 The Hooters - SatelliteOne hit wonders in the UK but in the US & their native Canada a very big act indeed, this had a brilliant video and again major support from 'No Limits' & 'The Chart Show' got this song into the top 40, it reached no 22 but spend 9 weeks in the top 75 which aint bad at all 15 The Specials - Ghost TownA UK no1 and arguably the best record to come out of the whole ska/punk thing in the early 80s, one of the most sinsiter records ever and the fact it was a no1 was downright amazing, still a very chillin record. 14 Human League - Don't You Want MeProbably the best pop record of the 80s and it's only 14 I know that can't be true but in the truest sense of 'Pop' I can stand by that statement. Great video, great lyrics and so damn catchy. 13 Mr.Mister - Broken WingsYeh it's another Best rock album in the world ballads ever vol 16 classic. I just love me soft rock ballads and this is one of the best ever marginally better by their other big hit, yet to come in the countdown. 12 Yes - Owner Of A Lonely HeartBest thing ever is playing GTA:Vice City while playing this record, yeh I know everybody says Yes were up their own arses but this US no1 was a great pop/rock record ok it had some silly keyboard twiddling in it but and epic chorus and some great guitar riffs made up for that 11 Bryan Adams - Run To YouJUt missing the top 10 is Bryan with his biggest song of the 80s both in chart success and quality, ok som eof his singles have sold more since but this was close to rock perfection. well that's all folks 10-5 tomorrow and 5-2 saturday and I will reveal the no1 on Sunday

10 China Crisis - Wishful Thinking
Dunno bit of an usual choice this, I wasn't that into China Crisis when they were around, I discovered this song very late, it was actually played as a backing track on Trigger happy TV a few years ago and I had to know what that song was, it has been on eof my favourite 80s songs ever since. Quick clue the no1 is very similiar style of track to this!!!
9 INXS - Need You Tonight
Everyone knows this the song that eventually broke INXSW big in the Uk after missing the top 40 on its first issue, just pure class.
8 New Order - Blue Monday
Again wot needs to be said about this song, just perfect stuff. You all know it.
7 Mr. Mister - Kyrie
I warned there would be more Mr Mister this follow up single to 'Broken Wings' just upped the ante and beats it all round, shame their future albums were met with universal indifference.
6 Madonna - Live To Tell
OMG It's the first appearance for Madonna. Bet you all wondered if she'd be here at all. Classy first single of the 'True Blue' album is just in a different class to most of her stuff, brilliant basically.
oh and that's it for today
