*** dodges slap from Smurfie*** haha You bet!!You don't mess with Smurfie's favourate group of all time. His collection of their stuff can fill 2 Oxford Street HMV stores easily!! im going to dig out some Ace of Base this weekend! John you are right about Cruel Summer though, Bananarama's vocals are not very good, i loved their version for the production, the Dub version should therefore be my favourate i suppose, a case of less is more!

The only Cruel Summer version I wasn't overly keen on from AoB was the version they did with the band Alliage. Mind you, there are so many remixes knocking about of it, I'm sure I haven't heard them all.

As I'm only a so so fan,I might have my facts wrong lol but it seemed from 'All That She Wants' that the blonde one was the lead singer and had more camera shots in the videos of the singles that followed etc.Am I right ? It seemed that way to me anyway.
Fast forward a few years and she develops a phobia of the spotlight or something (?!) and is blurred out of photos and only in the background of videos and so the brunette becomes the lead singer.
My questions is,seeing as the brunette has (to my ears) an equally fab voice, and is equally stunning, and is happy and comfortable to take the lead - why wasn't she the lead singer from the beginning ?
*** makes vow that 'Happy Nation US version' shall be my next purchase ! ***

Linn stepped away from the spotlight as the front person singer type, from what I remember, following a stalker incident. So from The Bridge onwards, she is there, but not there, if you know what I mean. Jenny has always been the better singer of the two, but miss the fact they share the vocals on the songs, rather than Linn opting for backing, and in some cases, especially live performances, not at all.

Always Have Always Will for me, just ahead of The Sign purely because it sounds fresher. But after hearing it on an old chart show I have (3rd July 94, there's a thread in Retro from last year) and bought the Happy Nation album (US version) Voulez Vouz Danser is my favourite song of all. So much stronger than most of the other songs on the album its a mystery to me why it was never released as a single.
I bought the US version of Happy Nation on Cd Wow, glad to hear its the better version. The only downside is that Don't Turn Around differs from the single version, which I prefer.

You MUST! Start with Flowers. Thats my favourite one. Always Have Always Will Life Is A Flower Everytime It Rains He Decides Tokyo Girl Travel To Romantis ...are my favourite ones on the album. Avoid Donnie and Cecilia on the album though - they are a little Euro-cringeworthy.

I've already had Happy Nation once before so I already found it to be their best album. I have The Bridge and that's pretty excellent too. I also have Flowers but aside from the great singles and the completely excellent 'Donnie',the rest of that album doesn't do a whole lot for me (sorry Smurfie haha).

So by my calculations (counts on fingers) and (apart from the Singles of the 90's with the wonderful Hello Hello on it) just Da Capo to get. The Bridge stand out track is My Deja Vu! How that didn't make a single around the same time as Cocao Jambo time and the like is beyond me. Even the Swedish got the promo, but not the full release.

Just 'Da Capo' to get then - but only if it's in the 1 euro price range, then I'll snap it up.Otherwise,I'll stick with what I've got thanks.lol.
Oh yeah I like My Deja Vu too and was definately strong enough to be a single, but the stand outs for me are between Beautiful Life and Experience Pearls.
