I live in a block of flats. I would like to enforce a "no sandals" rule within the block at least in the public areas but cannot. I hope to move to a house soon and am actually actively looking for them, although the location won't be as good as where I am now for the money I can afford, as I have some money but not that much.
I do sort of live in a "community" but that is more linked towards the synagogue that we all live relatively local to.

Why do you dislike sandals so much?

No, I didn't receive any CDs for Christmas. I don't celebrate, for one, and I don't listen to CDs anymore really. My parents did ask me what I wanted as a "free CD" from a promotion some time ago and I chose Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds from among those listed.
And sandals look just so disgusting. On both men and women.

You mentioned that you do P/T taxi-driving Neil. Do you use your own car or is it a black cab? Just curious as we have a friend who's a mini-cab driver in Central London.

I haven't done that for a long time and I don't even have a PCO licence anymore as I ddin't bother renewing it. I never did the knowledge but I know may way around better than most minicab drivers.
I never get the point of people getting minicabs in central london as the fares are much higher than for black cabs. Minicabs should be used for suburban journeys and particularly airport runs. Most mimicab drivers prefer airport runs anyway.

I know that the song on the day I was born was The Last Time by The Rolling Stones. I'm not totally sure if there's any major connection between the lyrics and my life, although people don't always listen to my advice when they should.
Or maybe people are singing the song to me. People often say they tell me things and I don't listen. Not sure whether "listening" here means actual listening or agreeing with them. They may give me advice but I might not take it because I don't agree with them rather than that I wasn't actually listening.

If you don't mind me asking, how are things with you and your wife now? (I noticed your post in Gubbins)

She is back home after being away for over 2 months. And things are better than they were before, I'm just hoping it can stay this way.

Would you rather listen to a compilation by The Pointer Sisters or The Three Degrees ?

I don't know enough music by the Three Degrees, really only When Will I See You Again plus A Woman In Love and My Simple Heart. Prince Charles was a big fan of them.
I'd probably go for the Pointer Sisters, Slow Hand being my favourite song of theirs but they also did Jump (For My Love) and I'm So Excited which were good songs.

Which is more revolting : marmite or beetroot ?

Carol does not have that dress because she hired it, so had to give it back fairly soon after.
I don't eat marmite but don't find it disgusting. I usually eat beetroot once a year on Rosh Hashanah. It's quite nice, actually.

Hi Neil. Does Gamliel like music? If so what does he like?

Scratchcards/lottery/postal compettitions/raffles/draws etc What's the best thing you ever won ?

Gamliel seems to like music, particularly likes watching some programs on CBeebies and he seems to like the ZingZillas
The best thing I ever won in a lottery was at a bridge event where I got to partner top player Zia Mahmood for a few hands when my number came up. Better than the £10 I once won on a regular lottery ticket in 1995.

''start wearing purple''.
Are socks with sandals ok if they're both purple ?

sandals are never ok
Anything with open toes counts as sandals for me. Even high heel knee-high boots with iopen toes qualify as sandals. And I once saw someone wearing something like that too -was horrified.
