I stayed in Hamilton with friends in the late 90s! I've heard of Bic Runga, trying to remember if they ever supported Midnight Oil or Inxs when I went to see them in concert over here.

I'm not sure if she did but she's been around for a while now and I wouldn't be surprised if she might have been a supporting act for those guys.
Midnight Oil = Peter Garett currently the Minister for Education in the Australian Labour government. How things change eh?!
I'm actually enjoying posting on here now. It's nice to share with people who have the same passion for music as I do. I've been a fan of charts since I was a teenager. Oh how I miss the early 90s.

You're 9 years younger than me, so it was the 80s for me when I got into music, New Order, Big Country, then the Cult, Mission, Bon Jovi, Midnight Oil, Inxs. It is odd to think of Pete Garrett in politics, nice to see they get together every now and then and do a fundraiser concert. I see they have another best of out. Other aussie bands that hopefully you heard of in NZ that I like were Hunters and Collectors, Powderfinger and Big Pig and of course Crowded House.

Andy,
I think I've heard of Hunters and Collectors but not really listened to them. Not heard of Big Pig. What a name for a band! I know Powderfinger and Crowded House.
I do enjoy listening to Aussie artists overall. I liked Savage Garden and was disappointed when they split up. But have been supporting Darren Hayes especially since his fallout with Sony Music. I think he is an amazing artist. Unappreciated by the mass.
Oh and i'm back to working day shifts again. And it's been a very nice sunny spring day here although it was cold and frosty overnight.
Paddy, sounds like you like alternative music. I know of the bands mentioned but not that big a fan.

Hi and welcome along, how did you come across Haven? Oh actually I saw this place being mentioned on another forum, something about a person being banned so though I'd see for myself what it's like. Seems alright.

Oh, would that person be Chris/Common Sense by any chance? The "man" with the soap opera life! Yes!! He's vile and is going around all the forums slagging the Admin here off, such vile name- calling and other stuff. He seems clever though, as he says he's posted nothing threatening and everything is within the law. I honestly think he's a bit unhinged. Every forum I've joined, he's been there spouting his crap and causing trouble. Glad he's banned here but he's bragging about being back in January wheh he moves house and has a new Internet provider. He says he's far smarter than you Andy.

Chris is delusional, and I'm not dragging a getting to know you thread down to be about him, so we'll just move on.
