Yes,yes a thousand times YES ! Did that sound too eager ? Oh, go on then. You share your class with Mr.Jones.He teaches the kids on Mondays, and you teach them on Wednesdays and Fridays. Almost 1 year passes, and Mr.Jones leaves, to......I dunno... become a nun or something. You now have the chance to go through essays/coursework and change grades/marks that he had handed out.Do you use that power ? Would you have any interest in seeing if you'd mark the same way,or is it just extra work that you don't need ?

Did you just come up with that Mr. Jones scenario off the top of your head? It's spooky! I wouldn't change anything he'd already marked as it would already have been inputted into the system, but I'd like to compare my marking to his. We do something called moderation for things like coursework where we all grade work which has already been centrally decided and see how stingy or generous we are individually and justify why that is. It's fascinating but very time-consuming to do!

If you hosted a specially-themed party, what would the theme be ? Doctor Who! Actually, my 30th birthday this December is going to be themed. 1979 is the theme, and you have to dress accordingly! I'm going as Thatcher!

Do you have a favourite pair of socks?

I have a few I love - one with comic book noises on, one with poison/toxic symbols embroidered on, one with garish dollar symbols in fluorescent colours and another with controls on like play, pause, f/fwd etc. Crazy sock Friday is always fun at work!

Are you definitely getting your own form in September then? You said you may be!

Yep, my own proper form. I've had some year sevens for the last half term but didn't want to keep them as it was only a temporary vacancy and I'd get moved on again after Christmas, so really chuffed that they've given me the form I wanted. They were my friend's and I taught them for English but he's now left so we both agreed it was a good idea for me to take them on, but didn't expect the top brass to agree with us (basically the more you want something, the harder they make it for you at our school!). 8BL they'll be called and they're as thrilled as I am about it!

Very good, but what about this?
A man started to town with a fox, a goose and a sack of corn. He came to a stream which he had to cross in a tiny boat. He could only take one across at a time. He could not leave the fox alone with the goose or the goose alone with the corn. How did he get them all safely over the stream?

Oh that old chestnut!
He takes the goose over first, comes back. Takes the corn over and brings the goose back, takes the fox over, goes back for the goose.
Highly inefficient way to run a business!
