ok chaps, the votes have been counted, and 40 bands have been eliminated... ...at least, until a Better Idea was devised. after deciding that there was no way a simple a vs. b contest would work properly on this scale, i (with a little help from my friends) thought it would be better if the competition worked a different way. so pay attenshun. the 40 winners of last round shall now be known as the "seeded" bands - they are given no particular advantage. what i have done is, entirely randomly of course, divided the 80 bands into 8 groups of 10 each, each group comprising 5 random "seeded" bands and 5 "non-seeded" bands. so all the "seeding" does, really, is stops all the winners from rd. 1 being in the same group. you'll be able to tell which ones are "seeded" (not that it matters) because they'll be the first 5 in each group. i'd * them, but stellastarr* stole my idea. so what happens now is (hopefully) people will pick FOUR bands from each group... any four you want. then the top 4 overall from each group will go through, leaving us with a nice round 32 which will prevent awkwardness. i think this is a very good idea. wasn't my idea, which is probably why any STRONG objections, my pm link is over <--- thattaway, otherwise, get voting! A link in the Music forum would be a good idea imo, in case some peeps dont come into the Indie forum... You can bump that every couple of days then... Do you have a list of who voted last time, PM them after a few days and see if they want to vote in here, it's what I do for the Top 64 women comp;)
