Sorry when I say Tsunami Gig I mean the one to raise money for victims of the Tsunami that the Millennium Stadium (Cardiff) are hosting on Saturday (22nd Jan). I am very excited as I will get to see Eric Claption, Keane, Badly Drawn Boy, Snow Patrol (Arrghh!! ;D ), Manics and Kelly Jones all for £15! I will also be seeing (unfortunately) Liberty X, Aled Jones, Charlotte Church and Katherine Jenkins (who?!)

There's one in Bristol where Portishead are playing for the first time in Yonks. I'm really interested but not enough for a huge train fare though - why can't everything be in London like it normally is?

So did you enjoy it then Nic ? I had a great time (though a little warning that Brian McFadden would turn up might have helped to plan the beer queue breaks...) One of the highlights for me was Snow Patrol - the whole stadium caught on & there was an electric atmosphere throgh there set. Run was amazing, with a sea of waving red lights across 65k people and mass sing-a-long. ;D It was an incredible sight - so a massive disappointment now I've seen the TV coverage of this. It looked pathetic with a few dots of white light scattered around . Now I understand why the presenters stopped encouraging people to wave the red lights as the night went on - the TV cameras obviously couldn't catch them Liberty X failed to get any audience reaction at all, which was quite amusing. I think after hours of watching bands on stage playing instruments, a group of five dancers to a backing track didn't really work. It was surprising how late they were on too. (My brother being digusted that they came after Manic Street Preachers - but then he had expecetd everyone to leave after MSP anyway). A most striking audience reaction was the volume of booing for Tony Blair's recorded message Eric Clapton's guitar at the end now has me digging out blues guitar CD's - it'll be Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher in the car this week

Her reception was not ecstatic, but I really don't remember it being that bad. Must have been localised booing - I was a long way back and high up. I do remember being amused by the streams of people moving down the aisles to take a break when Raghav was on Indie/Rock bands went down best as far as I could see -but maybe that was my slightly biased viewing ;D

Charlotte Church was booed early on when her name was mentioned but she wasn't actually that bad. Same can be said for Aled Jones I suppose who I wasn't looking forward to seeing either.
Best act by far were Snow Patrol. Shame the lights didn't show up on screen because it was amazing in the stadium. ;D
Having never seen the Manics or Stereophonics/Kelly Jones I was very impressed by their sets. ;D
Have to say the biggest let down for me was Eric Clapton's set with Jools Holland, overhyped! I waited an extra hour just to see it and I really didn't enjoy it.
I have to say that I have now learnt not to complain about being cold because I sat through 8 hours of freezing temperatures and coped with it!
