I like Map of the Problematique which is lined up for single release too apparently. The Cydonia track has ben released in US, so its a dead cert for single release over here, that hasnt hit me yet, but many people think its the best song on the album. YES Those are the two best songs on the album, immense they are! It does flow! Not in the one-big-long-song Mars Volta kind of way, but still...

how can you people say that, this album is fricking great!! Just one person's said that And Penny/Karl, buy the album. Supermassive may be a 9/10, but it's still only about the sixth or seventh best song on the album. Starlight is better, but MOTP and KOC are both better still.

Starlight sounds like Keane, dudes, both melodically, structurally and sonically. The whole album is a nasty big over-compressed mess. They're awesome in an unpleasantly graphic, prog-metal way, but that's about all. Also they used to sound like Senseless Things. I know cos I was at school with them and saw them play Teignmouth Community College hall in about 1995.

the singles may sound commercial but the rest of the album is gonna have people going " what the f*** was that?!" but in a good way [or atleast it should be in a good way] like the end of knights of cydonia

Knights of Cydonia is complete cack.... almost as bad as Starlight. Just a horrid pretentious noise from a band who have completely lost it.

lost it?! they're on the up, and the their live shows are better than ever every time you here there new album you think wow, they can't top this... until the next one comes along
are they pretentious just cos they like to do things bigger [and better in most cases] than the other bands around. they sound different to all the bands that are around. now don't get me wrong i like simpler stuff too, i love the fratellis album, but it's nice to have something a bit more grandiose and more than just a handful of chords put together

Fair point - I will listen to the album one more time tonight to give it a final chance.

It is ok, I've gone off it a bit since I bought it though. Map Of The Problematique or whatever it's called is great - but there again, I do love the Pet Shop Boys' 'Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money)' track so it's not unexpected.
