Great work Andy, I had a feeling Gnarls Barkley would be the new CombiChart no. 1, and they eased their way to the top with 94 more points than Embrace. It does amaze me that with 34 charts, the majority of the top 20 hit over 200 points. The Multichart that I compile is lucky if the top 10 songs hit 200 points - and that's with 34 charts too (although the posters are different). I reckon 'Crazy' will be at the top for a few weeks.

An indie ish top 6! And in fact a fairly good top 10 apart from Mary J Blige. Thanks Andy!

andy tell me how do you count a double a-side singles which both of the a-sides appear on one chart position on my chart (i.e. Gorillaz - Kinds with Guns / El Manana)? cos here i can see that only one song can enter on one chart position, so is it 50/50?

It's a good question and one I have been asked before, if you chart a double a on #11, it would score 20 points normally, with a double A, I split the points 10 each, IF, someone else has charted the 2nd double a side, until someone does that it stays as a double a.
FF and the fallen/l wells was charting as a double a, until someone along with me started charting l wells separately.
If you like BOTH tracks from a double a single, you are best to chart them separately and let them both score points.

After all this chart is about songs, album tracks can be in your chart as well. I hope that is clear and sorry to anyone that didn't know with the gorillaz or ff songs. Still time to split them for next week and give both points, in this case el manana has been getting more separate points than kids with guns.

That seems silly... if people chart both then surely it should be kept as combined on here otherwise they're losing out on points, no?
I'm not splitting mine on my chart so I'd like my maximum points to go to El Manana please if you are splitting...

So you're saying if I charted el manana at #1 and kids with guns at #2, that the song should score 51 points from me? The max a song can score is 30 surely? If yours is an even split dandy, it's an even split, if you dont like kids with guns, drop it from your chart, and el manana will get full points.

No... I'm saying that if you chart El Manana at #1 and Kids With Guns at #2 then the AA sided single should get the highest of the two, ie 30 points or whatever is relevant from poster's chart positions. The current way is vastly unfair on the single as a whole as many people would chart it as a double A and only get half the points for each so their positions are deflated when you split them.
I'm personally nowhere near as keen on Kids With Guns and it's El Manana that's driving the single in my chart but I'm not gonna drop Kids With Guns from it altogether or chart them separately as I've always charted double a's together and it would mess up the chart history.
I'd be interested to know where it would be in the combi-chart if it was done in this method and see how much higher it'd be...

But anyway... no matter what I think - it's your combi-chart so if it's easier or better for you to do it how it currently is then fair 'nough.

Yeah, sorry dandy, I think which ever way I do it, is unfair, sorry we differ, I can see what you mean, my problem is if another person charts kids with guns separately as well, it then gets no points from your chart, despite being mentioned, and so it will only ever get points as a separated single. A lot of the time people only know the a side, with gorillaz and ff, both singles have got known. Anyway, you kicked my arse into gear and I've tried to explain in the bumpf in the post your charts here first post what I do, and how I split the points, so hopefully people can see how it works. And sorry I cant work out how much higher el manana would have been on it's own, not too much I dont think, as not sure that many have charted it together?
