Well, at least I've heard of Steve Davis - but given that all his wins were in the 80s, and we're now more than halfway through the 00s (assuming you count them as being from 2000 to 2009), it doesn't fill me with confidence

He won the UK Championship, the second biggest ranking tournament, after the World Championship. It sent his provisional ranking up to 3 but as he was outside the top 16 at the start of the season, he has to win a qualifying match...
