...CITY!! Spurs have accepted a British record bid in excess of £30m, after Man City were taken over by some rich Arabs.

Oh my!
And would that mean Robinho ends up at Chelsea after all?

I did laugh at this part of the BBC's deadline day news...
1713: Fact time: Manchester United have been speaking to Dimitar Berbatov. Classic United, this. They'll agree terms, get him to sign a medical and then force Spurs to accept a lower bid for him as the clock ticks towards midnight. Allegedly.

Berbatov's apparently had a medical at Man U, even though they're still not supposed to be speaking to him...

No, Robinho also on his way to Manchester - but it ain't Old Trafford...
Did someone tell him that isn't the big club in Manchester?

Absolute madness, and when the Arabs pull the plug and realise they wont be another Real Madrid or Man United, Man City will go down the plug hole!

Absolute madness, and when the Arabs pull the plug and realise they wont be another Real Madrid or Man United, Man City will go down the plug hole! no real loss, they play with fire they deserve to get burnt. look at last year when they got that thai tax dodger, he was a billionaire and all the fans were saying champions league this season, the league title in 3 year and they end up having to pay off sven and loosing to boro 8-1 haha. robinho is a show pony anway, a few kicks and he will be out for most of the year wanting to move back to spain

Thing is though Daz, is that it's the fans who will suffer, but it's not them that are selling the club is it?

Thing is though Daz, is that it's the fans who will suffer, but it's not them that are selling the club is it? every fan i have seen so far are mocking, flaunting and being very arrogant and naive about it all. they are almost as bad as tottenham fans The Arab guy has already said top 4 this year and win the premiership next year. i think they will acchieve neither and if they pump half a billion in taking over the club, buying a few players and paying mega wages then i think the guy will get frustrated and sell off the assets, cut his losses. no one wants to be unauccessful and lose 100's of millions a year no matter how rich they are. i guess the fans have to take the highs with the lows. west ham, villa, man u, portsmouth, chelsea, sunderland, qpr, liverpool have all been taken over aswel as man city so most of the league are in the same situation

I do think they can manage top 4 if the new board have patience, though not sure it will be this season as there will be a lot more games played before they can bring in more players and they may be adrift. One great player won't put them in the big 4, and I'm not sure how well Wright-Phillips will fit into a "new" Chelsea given he didn't fit into the old one all that well.
Tottenham are laughing because their bid for Berbatov helped them get more from Man U for him, although they want to be a "big 4" club themselves and have sold off their two best assets from last season.
Whose idea was it to buy Robinho? Did Mark Hughes have any say in the matter? I think the "open cheque-book" approach usually works a lot better than a board bringing in players of their own choosing. They usually go for big-name stars rather than players that will fit into the style of play the manager wants.

Apparently I hear Man City now want to buy a couple of players from neighbours Man U in the next transfer window
Of course top of the agenda is Ronaldo, who City want to splash £120 mil for him.

They usually go for big-name stars rather than players that will fit into the style of play the manager wants. with the amount of money they have they will finish top 4 in the end but when an impatiant rich chairman has stated they expect top 4 this season and to win the league next year i think there is no chance. this year there are 6 better teams (man u, chelsea, liverpool, arsenal, aston villa and tottenham). with the likes of portsmouth, west ham, everton and sunderland all competing to finish top 10 aswel. newcastle, wigan, blackburn, boro and bolton are no push overs either and they could easily take points off man city. buying in random star players that dance about the wing beating their man and asking a manager to put them in a winning team is impossible. on the other hand having michael ball at left back it will be impossible to finish top 4...this season
