Thought i'd start this now while there is still an air of optimism and hope for all supporters.
Notts County are hopeful that a takeover will go through by the end of June, if the supporters trust votes yes in the ballot. This will release funds to McParland for rebuilding the team. Without it we will be in dire straits.
Burton Albion have Paul Peschosolido as their new manager. He's a well-known player (at least around the Midlands) and married to Karen Brady, but he's untried and untested in management so that'll be interesting. He's made a few good signings though including the ex-Derby player Paul Boertein.
Bradford City have strengthened their squad by signing Gareth Evans from Macclesfield, a player capable of scoring plenty of goals.
Port Vale could be the team to beat next season. They have around £1 million to spend on players and the backing of loan players from Stoke City.

Apparently Pulis and Mickey Adams are good mates...
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has revealed he is willing to help out local rivals Port Vale by loaning the League Two club players next season.
Pulis' good friend Micky Adams has recently taken over at Vale Park and is keen to build a squad capable of achieving promotion.
Adams could receive a helping hand from Pulis, who is keen for the younger members of his squad to gain first-team experience.
"I've got a lot of time and respect for Micky, so it goes without saying I wish him well in his new job across the road at Vale," Pulis told The Sentinel.
"If I can help him, and it suits us to do it, I will look into the possibility of letting him have a player or two. But I've got to be honest and say it's more likely to be a youngster than an established player.
"With all due respect, it wouldn't say a lot about me as a manager if I bought in a senior pro and then loaned him out into the lower leagues.
"But Vale could be ideal for blooding one or two youngsters, if Micky fancies them, and I'd be more than happy to help out as best I can."

yeah i think they said everyone could leave on a free...and they did, i can't find out anywhere who is actually at the club still! not even on their own website.
they have arranged friendlies against newcastle, sunderland and boro all at home so i assume they have a squad or confident of assembling one

and darlo have dean windass haha woo Darlo also have Colin Todd as their manager and he was forced to let Windass leave on loan in 2007 thus also leading to his sacking and our relegation (and Leeds's relegation too of course, as he helped keep Hull up and Leeds probably wouldn't have gone into admin at that point if they'd stayed up).

Notts County's takeover got the green light today, hopefully we can go ahead with signing some decent players now!

Paul Heckingbottom is a good player, well he used to be, he made his name at Darlo about 5/6 years ago before moving to norwich and sheff wed both in the championship, although the last few years i have no idea

We've signed Graeme Lee from Bradford, I don't know much about him but I hear he is a solid defender.

Lee is a good player, he wasn't a great captain but he should have been retained just as a player.
There were 4 players on our books whose wages were higher than the rest and Michael Boulding was one of them. They were trying to get those players out to reduce the wage budget so we could bring others in. I am not sure whether Graeme Lee wasn't also among them which may be why we let him go.
Kyle Nix is a hard worker and played quite well in the 2007-2008 season in midfield.

Today we are signing ex-criminal Lee Hughes. Not sure what to make of that one. He'll certainly score goals and is just what we are looking for, but his dark past casts a shadow over his career!

He did the crime and he's done the time I guess, he will score a hatful at that level, how many did he get last season in L.1?

True, but some feel he got away lightly!
He scored 18 goals for Oldham last season. He's 33 years old, so no spring chicken though!

He'll bag 20 for sure, how long did he get, for what he did it was horrible, it was the running away and trying to get someone else to say they were the driver that galled me!

Hughes has decided not to sign for Notts. Obviously after too much money. Not that bothered to be honest, not exactly a likeable chap!

yeah i know what you mean by he did his time but you will be hard pushed to find a person that thinks 3 years was adequate. i am usually a firm believer in if you serve your time your entitled to a second chance but when you drink dive, killing one person and leaving the rest for dead, then flee the scene, then to try and get someone else to take the blame and after all that he got a nothing sentence that he tried to get reduced so he could get back to his super model with and million pound mansion! it galls me on several different levels.
on a better not it looks like darlington will start the season after putting a team together, the most notable names and who they played for last year:
gk. david knight - boro df. ian miller - darlinton df. steve foster - darlington captain df. ben starosta - sheff utd mf. chris lumsden - carlisle mf. jeff smith - carlisle mf. gary smith - brentford fw. dean windass - hull fw. lee thorpe - rochdale fw. curtis main - darlington
