Ntini was dropped which will spell the end for him. It's a sad way to go really.
What p*ssed me off today was the fact Collingwood got picked. He couldn't field at slip and was sent on the boundary somewhere. Graeme Swann then dropped a catch my seven year old could have caught.
Is Collingwood really that important that he needs to play even with a dislocated finger. He's not even contributing to the fielding desicions if he's sat on the boundary rope.

What a start to the morning!
SA all out for 291 after just 17 balls! Anderson's figures for the morning were 3-for-1 off 7 balls...
SA got an early breakthrough with Strauss out for 2.

I must say it's rather surreal driving through snow/ice-covered streets at 8 in the morning with the Test Match Special theme coming from the radio...

64-3 at lunch, not bad as long as Collingwood and Cooke can build a partnership after lunch. Personally I think we'll do well to reach 300

Am watching at the moment. It's 82-4. Absolute turgid progress !
Looking forward to the tail enders coming in and cracking it about a bit.

England all out for 273. Prior and Onions put on 32 for the last wicket after England lost 2 wickets in the first over of the day without adding to their overnight score.
SA's lead is 18.

We need a quick wicket, Smith would be nice! We nearly did but the review system overturned it.

We need a quick wicket, Smith would be nice! We nearly did but the review system overturned it. Not really a nearly, just a silly decision by the umpire. He only gave it out because he thought Prince was walking. We've got one now though! Prince out lbw for 15. 31-1

And Prince reviewed that too. Bet his captain wasn't too happy with that one.

This is England, why are you surprised? If they can bat, we can bat surely?

This is England, why are you surprised? If they can bat, we can bat surely? We are batting 4th though. It makes a big difference. The pitch will be at it's worse, the pressure will be on to save or win the game. If they get to about 350 ahead then we're struggling.

Don't forget the heat of the day as well, England will be struggling in the field now!

Don't forget the heat of the day as well, England will be struggling in the field now! Which augers badly for our chances. At some point tomorrow we'll have to go out and bat for 5 sessions to save a game.

That's 2 good excuses, you should be press officers for them. Isn't the temperature the same for both players? And was it not that hot in the previous test that we somehow managed to win?

I'm not making any excuses for them. What I quoted before about the 4th innings are the simple facts of cricket. If you run some stats on the highest 4th innings totals to win they are very low. In fact the West Indies hold the record of 419 against Australia a few years ago.

South Africa declared on 447-7 which means England need 466 to win the match.

If SA's innings is anything to go by it's about as good a pitch as you're going to get for a final day and a half.
Can't see England trying to chase it down, even though around 3 runs an over would be enough.

Me neither especially as they're 1-0 in the series.
Strauss nearly got caught at 2nd slip at 3-0 but just fell short.
