The grammatical incorrectness on Midge Ure's song is most annoying. It should be "If I Were".

The grammatical incorrectness on Midge Ure's song is most annoying. It should be "If I Were". Why stop there ? "I Got You Babe" and "We Are The World" are also grammatically incorrect, and "USA For Africa" is just nonsense.

I'm not sure if We Are The World is grammatically incorrect, just a false statement. America is not the world, as Morrissey said on You Are The Quarry.
I Got You Babe should of course be I've Got You Babe, but it's unlikely they would change the title on a cover version.

I'm not sure if We Are The World is grammatically incorrect, just a false statement. America is not the world, as Morrissey said on You Are The Quarry. I was thinking that "we are" is a multiple, whilst "the world" is clearly singular. So it is like say "we are the dog", rather than "we are the dogs", which sounds grammatically correct, if rather meaningless. "You are the quarry" works, because "you" can be singular or plural. Where's S1m when you need him ?

I'm not sure if We Are The World is grammatically incorrect, just a false statement. America is not the world, as Morrissey said on You Are The Quarry. They are not claiming that America is the world, the "we" refers to people not the country

Your countdown to the Top 3 is as following. Scores are calculated by the average points made by posters who voted:

Again, a charity record ends up on the lowest rung.
