Apologies for the comments but....
09 Paul McCartney - Pipes Of Peace (An under appreciated anti-war song IMHO - a great video) 08 Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax (going by 7" only) 04 Nena - 99 Red Baloons (I actually prefer the German version that was the airplayed A-side in the USA) 07 Lionel Richie - Hello (Can anyone listen to the song without thinking of the video ) 10 Duran Duran - The Reflex (I don't think even Simon Le Bon knows what the lyrics are about; but 80s euphoric pop/dance of the finest order) 06 Wham - Wake Me Up Before Yo Go-go (I remember as a 12 year old being disappointed they'd gone all girly) 09 Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Two Tribes (Again voting on the 7", I prefer the 9 minute 12" version featuring a future Red Dwarf Rimmer!)) 09 George Michael - Careless Whisper (Another great love song; "Guilty feet ain't got no rhythm" is a great line) 01 Stevie Wonder - I Just Called To Say I Loved You (Tragic to think this saccharine track was produced by the same artist who release some stunning albums in the mid 1970s) 08 Wham - Freedom (A wonderful throwaway Motown inspired pop song) 04 Chaka Khan - I Feel For You (I prefer the Prince original) 02 Jim Diamond - I Should Have Known Better (too Chris de Burgh for my liking) 08 Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power Of Love (the third of three fantastic singles, but I actually preferred Welcome To The Pleasuredome above them all) 08 Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas (Don't let the ghastly II and 20 versions put you off this original)

Apologies for the comments but.... Comments are welcome. Thank you. I'll close this one this weekend if that's OK? I'll try and get 1983, 82, 81, and 80, before year end. Then start on the #2's.

Why not the 70s? Especially the last 3 years of it.

Why not the 70s? Especially the last 3 years of it. Because I want to do #2's of the 80's next. Plus I hate the 70's.

I could do the 70s then if you don't want to whilst you do #2s of the 1980s.

Thank you to following that voted: Smurfie, Vya, Gezza76, Rubcale, Kingpin, Misterhamster, Shireblogger, Earl Purple, Dunkster, Meister, Thorney, the deleted elmer, PurpleCareBear, Borneoman, Wonderwall, Arcadia, Jan, Readytojump, Andy, Coolchristie, Skiqueen, Stewie, Robertlee, ManicKangaroo, Raliverpool, Darkstar79, Seanster, Whitneyfan, Ad1.
Your countdown to the Top 3 is as following. Scores are calculated by the average points made by posters who voted:
Countdown starts at #14, and Haven least likes Macca's #1 of 1984...
14: Paul McCartney - Pipes Of Peace (3.44 pts)
Although this a whole point above 1985's the Crowd, and it is quite grotty.
