It's back after a two season absence!
It works like this. Everyone taking part has to pick a fantasy team made up of Premier League players. The difference is the players will be picked one at a time in a US-style draft. All the managers would take turns until everyone has 11 players.
To make it fair, the order would change in each round of the draft so whoever had first pick in the previous round, goes last in the next round and everyone else moves up a spot. Also, you can only have a maximum of two players from any one club.
You can use this thread to sign up. 11 participants would be ideal but anything over five and we can make a game of it. We'll start picking players in a couple of weeks.
Can anyone recommend a good fantasy football game that we can use for the scores?

I will join if I understand the rules and try to participate all the time.

I will join if I understand the rules and try to participate all the time. It's simple enough. We just take it in turns to pick players until everyone has 11. The order in which we pick will posted in full. Last time we did it, we had a 48-hour time limit to pick a player.

Sure, but I might need reminding about picking players.

I'm up for it. But what about those participating send a preset ranking list in order of their potential Goalkeepers; Defenders; Midfielders & Strikers from which the squads are selected. Or we could all be lazy and play: www.premierleague.com/page/Home/0,,12306,00.html

If people want to do that, that's fine, but you don't get the drama of waiting to see who the next person is going to pick...

I always have a list of people I want, it's great fun waiting to see who goes off that list before my go comes around And we should have pc access on hols, so should be able to pick when needed

I'd use the Budweiser official Premier League one for scores. fantasy.premierleague.com/Scoring: For playing in a game 1 For playing at least 60 minutes in a game (includes playing points mentioned above) 2 For each goal scored by your goalkeeper or defenders 6 For each goal scored by your midfielders 5 For each goal scored by your forwards 4 For each goal assist 3 For your goalkeeper / defender conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 4 For your midfielder conceding 0 goals (must also play at least 60 minutes) 1 For every 3 shot saves made by your goalkeeper 1 For every penalty save 5 For every penalty miss -2 Bonus points for the best players in a match 1-3 For every 2 goals conceded by your goalkeeper or defenders -1 For every yellow card -1 For every red card (includes any yellow card points) -3 For every own goal -2 Dreamteamfc is easier but the points are worse... Edit: It depends on what you want to score on. The one above only does Premier League matches. The one with the Sun does everything....

Those points look good to me.
As long as it's easy to get a list of players on here, we'll probably go with those.

You have to register your own team to be able to get in (it's free) and if you're looking by position you can't sort by club... There is a list full list of players here though, it's sorted by price fantasy.premierleague.com/playerlist.html

Cheers paddy, I've decided not to do a fantasy footy team this year, although I may enter Sam's as I'm offering him advice, not that he needs it, he beat me by over 100 points last season! We might do a sweep in our family, so may use the same players as get listed here, just to see if an 8 year old girl can pick better players than those in the know, supposedly
