The Expendables. It was so poorly written that I spent most of the film thinking we were accidentally watching The Expendables 2, which would explain why I had no clue who these guys were other than famous action movie stars. I think you're supposed to have taken all the characterisation you need from old school action movies starring them. Which, in all honesty, struck me as kinda lazy. Hehe but that's the point! It's a tribute to all those bad films to begin with!

We watched 2 and 3 on the following nights; I actually think 2 worked a lot better (though I get the point that none of these movies are supposed to 'work' exactly!)

Robot & Frank (2012)
If I see a better film than this all year, I'll be impressed.

"The Lesson" - a British "Hostel" but with school kids and a teacher. Odd.

Sunshine Cleaning (2008)
Very good, despite being incredibly depressing at the same time.

Sunshine Cleaning (2008) Very good, despite being incredibly depressing at the same time. Ooh yes mum and I went to see that at the cinema when it came out. Mixture of grim as hell and heart-warming. I've subscribed to Shudder for a free trial, so I'm watching more (hopefully better) horror this half term!

Your Highness
So, so awful. But definitely so-bad-it's-good.
