71's probably the best of recent years, despite the abject awfulness of tracks 2-5. Generally I'd say the ones at the end of 2000s are better than the ones at the start, even if that doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of music generally.

To back up my point from earlier, here are the acts on Now 72 that crop up on Now 73.
Lily Allen Lady Gaga Flo Rida Alesha Dixon (twice) The Saturdays (twice) Tinchy Stryder Britney Spears Akon Shontelle Ne-Yo N-Dubz Katy Perry Take That James Morrison Pink Noisettes The Prodigy Kanye West Justin Timberlake Daniel Merriweather
22 songs by artists that were on the previous instalment. Out of 44. Exactly half of the album was essentially a repeat.
And of those on 72 that missed out on 73, 2 were FiX Factor end of year climaxes and so unrepeatable, one was the Comic Relief single (ditto) and 2 were by T.I.

"What's the difference between Now 76 and the entire output of the sewage system of London over a period of a thousand years?"
"I don't know."
"Exactly."

I think you could soon remove the last word from that most recent Saturdays single...
