Key word being "reportedly" since this rumour has abounded across the last twenty years!

I'm watching each doctor's last and then first episodes going backwards through the sixty years. I intended to switch to my DVDs and Blu-rays but am using the Whoniverse instead! Currently 'surviving' The Twin Dilemma.

That's not exactly what's happened and how exactly can he be half Dalek when the creature inside is the Dalek and the machine is their battle tank? He has no legs, he has one hand missing, he's virtually blind. All easily classable as disabilities in some way. RTD might not have been elegant in his phrasing but the ridiculous outrage is ridiculous. It's also outlined as a wheel chair in Terry Nation's original script and when Capaldi's 12th Doctor throws Davros out and wheels around in it, it is very much a wheel chair.
There *is* a long standing literary and cinematic trend of villains being scarred, limping, having withered hands, walking sticks etc. The inner ugliness manifests itself externally usually. Shows like Little Britain over the years have also used "Davros" as an insult to wheel chair users. To deny all that is odd of people.

Ok so we ban Darth Vader and Captain Hook next. Still nobody thinks like that, even if everything you say is true, it is still a dumb decision. What about positive wheelchair users like Professor X what about Luke Skywalker!! he has prosthetics?
Ok I know he isn't actually half a dalek, was being flippant, I know he is a human type alien, but the bottom half of him is travelling in a dalek shell. Also doesn't that make all daleks disabled, we did have all those jokes about them until they could fly. How did they take over half the universe when they couldn't go upstairs? Oh but jokes are bad now, can't shame fictional creatures.
The point is I loved Davros, he was one of the best villains and so scary, now he might as well be called Dave Ross.
You can defend this decisions as much as you like but it won't stop the decline of the show, so many were ready to give the new shows a chance, and stuff like this means they won't be back. If you think ratings don't matter go speak to Sylvester McCoy.
Oh and there was an easy solution if they wanted to go that way, they could just say it is a new timeline and this happens before the Davros we knew. That's it, don't say anything else. Then I think it would have been accepted more. Oh but he wouldn't have got all the backslaps from his buds at the BBC if he had kept his mouth shut.

I hope they get darker, the end of that one hints at it. A little cringe in places but it was fine. Great to have David and Catherine back, who were both great.

I've been watching on BBC iplayer the old series from 1963/4 I actually watched these at the time, can't remember them obviously but fascinating to see them again. Some of them have voice overs by the producer director & actors which although irritating it's cool to hear how they did the scenes and special effects.
If your a fan I recommend them.

I did enjoy the first special. It was so good to see Tennant back and Catherine Tate was good too. The story was good without being great. I must say that I loved the new Tardis interior.
