So many deleted videos.. my earler one was probably "Blossoms Falling" by Ooberman. I entered that as my 1999 entry to Time Machine where it came 10th out of 19 so bang in the middle. All the songs that finished above it were bigger hits, but so were some of those that finished below it. Fastball - The Way was also the only top 40 hit for them in the UK, this also reached #1 in my chart in 1998. In my chart though they have had more hits. "You're An Ocean" reached #5 in my chart and the wonderful Elvis Costello-esque "I Will Never Let You Down" reached #2 in my chart in 2017. This was a huge hit in Finland. I am not sure if the single was released here (probably not?), but it had a heavy rotation on the radio and was #70 (year end chart of 1998), this position includes album sales (25%), radio airplay (35%), club airplay (10%). It would've been higher, if it was released as a single because it would've also included 35% of single sales.

Cliff Richard has had 136 top 75 singles. This is the only one that's peaked in the 70-75s. Probably because it was a flipped b-side to "Baby You're Dynamite", which had already made the top 30.
And yet it's Cliff's most popular song with his fans. Possible that EMI made the wrong decision in pushing the other side first, especially as some DJs were playing it anyway.

It's a great song, they definiately should have had that as the A-side

Ocean Deep is my personal favourite Cliff song.
It got lost by originally being the B side of Baby You're Dynamite - by the time they promoted it it to double-A the momentum had passed.
Hard to tell how it would have done at the time - might have depended on airplay.
It was following the top 10 Please Don't Fall In Love but he did suffer a bit if a reverse in 1984.
Miss You Nights is another fan favourite and it only did moderately well.

Not sure about other countries, but this song had a good airplay on MTV Russia in early 2000s.

A great song but one of the lesser remembered hits by the Four Tops. In fact it's nearly forgotten.
Four Tops - 7-Rooms Of Gloom (#12, July 1967)
Great vocals by Levi Stubbs and I love it when the drums kick in.

Not exactly a massive hit but I really loved this song at the time, which reached #30 in 2006

Nosmo King = No Smoking. AKA Stephen Jameson, who had hit the charts a decade earlier as part of The Truth, with a cover of "Girl". (He now does stand-up as the character Sol Bernstein.)
And it was originally a b-side, to a single credited to him alone. Until Dave McAleer heard it, thought it sounded very northern soul, and white-labelled it around the clubs. And once it became a Must Have, Dave, being A&R on Pye's Disco Demand imprint, got the rights to it and released it as an a-side. Giving the main credit to a sixties-sounding name as if it were a lost classic rather than a fresh cut.
The b-side was a Cunning Plan. "Nothing To Say", literally. An instrumental version of the a-side.
Oh, and a year after this came "Right Back Where We Started From". Hmmmmm.

Frances Nero - Footsteps Following Me
Stuck out a mile as it sounded dated at the time!

Apparently this is in the physical singles chart this week. Klubbheads' 'Klubbhopping'.

There are not many overtly pop acts who were one-hit wonders - and a very minor hit at that - who had a top five album.
The Photos managed that thanks to a bit of reading the chart rules small print. Firstly, they did the Ronco thing of "Buy The Photos - Get The Basement Tapes Free!", making it a double album for a single price. Secondly, there was a free camera on offer for stores pushing the album...

While we are on a new wave tip...
The News were Robbie Foster on vocals and occasional sax, Terry Newman on bass, Geordie Sanger on guitar, Paul Grieveson on keyboard, and Martin Rooney on drums. With a name like The News, it's not easy to find info about them, but it seems Paul Grieveson died suddenly in 2016.

Co-incidence time as just a few days ago I was reading Alan Jones Chartfile column from Record Mirror issue dated 19/09/81. AJ was writing about the fact that 30 of the previous week's top 75 singles could be bought for a maximum of 50p by shopping around (the usual price at the time for a single was well over £1) and alluded to the possibility / probability that these were in chart return shops. 'Audio Video' by News was specifically named as a single that could be bought for as little as 25p. It didn't seem to do much for the single though as it peaked at number 52.
