One of the few hits in 1981 that I never remember hearing at the time. Perhaps because it sounds more seventies than eighties. Despite that it's quite decent. Just missed the top 10, but Marshall had been there twice as a member of stompy bluesy glam rockers Hello.

Haddaway delivered several decent euro dance hits, here is 'Rock My Heart'.

Despite being released twice in the UK, this never became the success it perhaps should have been for La Bouche.

A club banger until it was revealed that the person behind it was Gilbert O'Sullivan. Always good to see Eric Sykes.

Tina Cousins with 'Pray' with some Sash! sounding synths and a slightly Abba sounding chorus.
I loved this at the time.... and 'Killing Time' was even better!

Pray is excellent - I’m surprised it never ended up on a Steps album!

In 1976, Mr Acker Bilk suddenly grabbed a top 5 hit from nowhere; his first hit single for 13 years, and his last. Although off the back of this he did have his first album hit over the same period - and the year after would score his third top 5 album.

Le Click were hoping for a huge hit with 'Call Me' but it failed to make enough of an impact.
