Cosmic Gate had a big hit with 'Fire Wire' and a smaller hit with this one, 'Exploration of Space.'

The Morning Papers by Prince & the New Power Generation. Excellent song released in 1993, the 4th single off an album so it only reached number 52. You never hear it anywhere, but it’s really very good.

People tend to remember Nick Berry's "Every Loser Wins" as either one of the absolute worst travesties ever inflicted on humanity or "the song from that Eastenders storyline". The main song from that storyline was the above. The idea was that a bunch of the younger cast had formed a band (I believe called The Banned, which suggests nobody had ever heard a) of the Guinness Book of Hit Singles or b) music) for a talent show and this was the song they came up with.
Not entirely apparent why Lee J Medford is actually there though.

Bruce Johnston - Pipeline (#33, September 1977)
The original is by The Chantays. The song formed the basis of 'Diamond Rings' by Chipmunk featuring Emeli Sande.

A slight change of tone for the Vengaboys. 'Forever As One' was a brief hit.
