So Lehmann has called Broad a blatant cheat for not walking and asked the Australian public to hound him when we go down under in the winter. Should a head coach be doing that?

No, a head coach shouldn't. But Broad is a fool for admitting he wasn't playing within the spirit of the game, and reactivating a controversy which had almost died off.

Interesting team selection by England, with Woakes and Kerrigan in. I'm pleased England are trying out inexperienced players, but these two aren't who I was expecting (Compton, Taylor & Tremlett).

Disappointing day so far, particularly for the debutants. A wicket or two is desperately needed!

Australia trying to make the final day interesting by setting England 227 to win from 44 overs.
Not sure England will bite, though they're already 10/0 in the second over.

England 163/2. 64 needed off 10 overs.

And the umpires take them off for bad light with England needing 21 off 4 overs. Well done ICC...

So England win 3-0. They deserve to win but it was a much closer series than 3-0 suggests (session-by-session coming up soon). England only dominated one test (Lord's) and won it easily. Australia controlled the 3rd test and were denied by rain. Trent Bridge and Durham were both close but went England's way, while this test would've petered out into a draw if Australia hadn't taken a cheeky punt on the final afternoon. On the overall balance of play, I think 2-1 would've been a closer reflection, rather than 3-0.
Not a classic series but very hard-fought with highlights here and there. Australia played pretty much true to form, while England looked below their best, particularly with the bat, and I think they'll have to play much better down under to keep hold of the urn.

They certainly will have to play better in Oz to win!

At least we are going into the next Series with some positive momentum now after a really strong last day.

I'm very disappointed with the series as a whole. The tactics of preparing slow dusty turners for Graeme Swann led to a lot of negative crickets. Credit must go to Michael Clarke for keeping on trying to take the game to England with a vastly inferior team.

What's the reasoning for having another Ashes text so close to this one, I always thought it was every two years?

What's the reasoning for having another Ashes text so close to this one, I always thought it was every two years? It's to avoid having an Ashes series followed almost immediately by the 2015 World Cup in Aus and NZ.. It is hard to move the home series as they wish to avoid the major football tournaments in even years and, last year, the Olympics as well.

And to avoid such a clash, we get another Ashes series over here in 2015 before things go back to normal!

I think that 2015 series will be Pietersens swansong.
