Squad Size: To join the game select a fantasy football squad of 15 players, consisting of...
2 Goalkeepers 5 Defenders 5 Midfielders 3 Forwards
Budget: The total value of your initial squad must not exceed £100 million.
Players per team: You can select up to 3 players from a single Barclays Premier League team
Choosing Your Starting 11: From your 15 player squad, select 11 players to form your team.
All your points for the Gameweek will be scored by these 11 players, however if one or more doesn't play they may be automatically substituted.
Selecting a Captain and a Vice-Captain: From your starting 11 you nominate a captain and a vice-captain. Your captain's score will be doubled.
After selecting your squad you can buy and sell players in the transfer market. Unlimited transfers can be made at no cost until your first deadline.
After your first deadline you will receive 1 free transfer each Gameweek. Each additional transfer you make in the same Gameweek will deduct 4 points from your total score
During the season, your fantasy football players will be allocated points based on their performance in the Barclays Premier League.

So over the next couple of weeks I’ll be looking at players who represent value, we all know Gareth Bale and Van Persie will score mega points, but they come with a mega fee. These are the players I think represent great value for money, first off is...
Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool 9m
With the uncertainty around Luis Suarez’s future and even if he stays theres his suspension which means Daniel Sturridge seems like a very shrewd move, he can play in multiple positions and was red hot towards the end of the season, he will always get goals and as a result pick up points, coming in at 5m less than Van Persie he is one of the cheapest strikers that will get regular first team football at a big club

Today I will focus on strikers so next up, if you like a bit of a gamble
Darren Bent – Aston Villa 6.5m
If Bent stays at Villa he would probably be the worst £6.5m anyone has ever spent in Fantasy Football but if he moves somewhere where he’ll be a first-choice he’s going to score goals.
An additional benefit, should you decide to pick him up now, is that he’ll almost certainly go up in value within a few weeks of any transfer and picking him is not that risky because you have unlimited transfers up until the start of the season and Villa are as keen to get rid of him as he is to leave with the up-side being potentially huge

Dimitar Berbatov - Fulham 7.5m
15 goals, 4 assists and 163 points made him the 5th highest scoring striker last year, his class will get him into positions to score goals and he has never scored less than 130 points in any season apart from his last year at Man U when he was benched and usually at a cost of 9m+ he has shown he can top 150 points at a much lower value, well worth a pick considering you choose a squad of 15 you can rotate if Fulham are away because that is the only concern for me
2010/11 £9.2 176 2009/10 £9.2 130 2008/09 £9.5 138 2007/08 £9.5 177 2006/07 £9.1 169

Arouna Kone – Everton 7m
He’s no Robin van Persie, admittedly, but he is half the price of the prolific Dutchman. Kone was an extremely useful Fantasy player last season, and the 140 points he amassed while playing for a struggling side surpassed the totals of players like Torres, Aguero, Adebayor, Giroud and Defoe all of whom cost considerably more than he did. Playing in a better team he might surpass last seasons total of 11 goals and 5 assists

Jozy Altidore - Sunderland 7m
Last season he got 31 goals for AZ aswel as 3 goals in 3 games for the USA last month in World Cup qualifying, big and strong, you might remember him for his time at Hull where he was less than a success, but he was only 19 and still managed an impressive 7 assists, he has matured and at 23 has started to fulfil his potential and opening fixtures against Fulham, Southampton and Palace is a decent start and with Steven Fletcher still out injured I wouldn't be surprised if he starts the season as Sunderland's main striker

I'm all joined up. Already made quite a few changes to my team a couple times now. I wouldn't be surprised if it changes further as we get closer to the start of the season.

time for players in midfield
Jonjo Shelvey – Swansea City 5.5m
The reasons for selecting Shelvey are all quite similar to the reasons he presumably had for joining Swansea City: he’ll get a chance to play regularly and in a position he favours behind the striker, at 5.5m he is cheap enough to be worth the gamble

Robert Snodgrass – Norwich City 6.5m
Robert Snodgrass was the ninth highest-scoring midfielder in Fantasy Football last year and the highest scoring for his value, 6 goals and 6 assists last season and a set piece taker means he will always pick up points and with Norwich improving their team he could do even better next season, he averaged the second most completed crosses per game last season in the entire league and now has Ricky van Wolfswinkel to find

Jack Wilshere - Arsenal 6.5m
Jack Wilshere also has the potential to be a bargain. Coming in at 6.5m in a team like Arsenal that play free flowing attacking football, a lot goes through Wilshere and he has the class to top 100 points but much also depends on his game time, with Arsene Wenger perhaps keen to court caution over his ongoing ankle problem

Paulinho - Tottenham 7m
Where Paulinho will play will be key to how many points he picks up next season, his all action performances for Brazil show he is capable of getting forward and scoring goals, many people reckon AVB will a shift from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3, with the Brazilian taking up the most advanced role and Gareth Bale moving to the flank
