Less than three weeks after the World Championship, the new snooker season gets underway tomorrow with the start of qualifying for the Wuxi Classic.
There are a few absentees, including Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Allen, plus a few spaces further down the order due to a few Tour places still to be decided. That means some of the best performing players from Q School get the chance to qualify for a ranking event. It's worth noting that Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis and James Wattana don't feature, despite being earmarked for top-up spots.
As with most tournaments now, it's a flat 128-player draw - just one win needed to reach the final stages.

Neil Robertson v Steven Hallworth Kyren Wilson v Alexander Ursenbacher Aditya Mehta v Michael Georgiou Marcus Campbell v Daniel Wells* Michael Holt v Hammad Miah Rory McLeod v Ashley Carty* Jimmy White v Fraser Patrick Ali Carter v Sam Baird Matthew Stevens v Chris Melling Dechawat Poomjaeng v Andrew Norman Jack Lisowski v Lu Ning Dominic Dale v Lu Chenwei Tom Ford v Chris Wakelin Andrew Higginson v Joe O'Connor* Rod Lawler v Vinnie Calabrese Shaun Murphy v Ryan Clark Marco Fu v Jamie O'Neill* Luca Brecel v Craig Steadman Jamie Jones v Zak Surety Ken Doherty v Ratchayothin Yotharuck Kurt Maflin v George Pragnall* Anthony Hamilton v Andrew Pagett Mike Dunn v Tony Drago Stuart Bingham v James Cahill John Higgins v Michael Wasley Anthony McGill v Alex Borg Gary Wilson v Michael Leslie Alan McManus v Cao Xinlong Peter Ebdon v Barry Pinches Yu Delu v Allan Taylor Gerard Greene v Lee Page Barry Hawkins v Matthew Day* Ding Junhui v Oliver Brown* Dave Harold v Oliver Lines Nigel Bond v Michael Tomlinson* Martin Gould v Adam Duffy* Ryan Day v Li Hang Matthew Selt v Sydney Wilson* Mark Joyce v Alex Davies Mark Williams v Elliot Slessor Stephen Maguire v Alex Pagulayan* David Gilbert v Sean O'Sullivan* Jamie Cope v Ross Muir Michael White v John Sutton* Fergal O'Brien v Noppon Saengkham Ben Woollaston v Lu Haotian Jimmy Robertson v David Grace Judd Trump v Joel Walker Ricky Walden v Joe Swail Peter Lines v Liu Chuang Cao Yupeng v Wang Zepeng* Mark King v Lee Walker Xiao Guodong v Liam Highfield Thepchaiyah Un-Nooh v Robin Hull Alfie Burden v Zhou Yuelong Graeme Dott v Eden Sharav* Joe Perry v Jak Jones Stuart Carrington v Scott Donaldson David Morris v Ian Burns Robert Milkins v Chris Norbury Liang Wenbo v Ian Glover Jamie Burnett v Jamie Rhys Clarke* Robbie Williams v Mark Owens* (had to chuckle at this match) Mark Selby v John Astley
After the Wuxi qualifiers, there's a one-day gap and then the Australian Open qualifiers begin. That is one of the few tournaments where the top 16 seeds still qualify automatically. However, there has been quite a low entry for that one, with five of the top 16 in the rankings sitting it out, including Selby, Ronnie and Ding. That means the automatic qualifiers include Matthew Stevens, Robert Milkins, Ryan Day, Michael Holt and Xiao Guodong.
