Good song, but I prefer Jenkins' cover version over original.

********************51 Queens Of The Stone Age – Go With The Flow******************************
Oh we are really back in MTV2 territory with those two videos one after each other. Probably my favourite QOTSA video. They still have one more so to come. This reached #21 in 2003 from arguably their best album.

Now into the top 50 only 2 acts have three songs in the top 50 and the first one is
********************50 The Killers - Human******************************
The first of two indie disco stompers from probably my favourite US band of the 00s and possibly the 21st century. This song did get overplayed but now it just sounds amazing. It reached #3 in 2008 from their third album 'Day & Age'

********************49 Empire Of The Sun - Walking On A Dream******************************
For me this is Empire of The Sun's best song, was really surprised that 'We Are The People' was the bigger hit. This should have been my number two on 2009 but was excluded as it carried over. It was probably released too late in the year as #64 was a shocking position for it.

omg that is insane this has taken 3 years !!!
********************48 Snow Patrol – Run ******************************
The best Snow Patrol ballad 100x better than 'Chasing Cars' and made a bigger hit by Leona Lewis. It reached #5 in 2004.

********************47 Kings Of Leon – Molly's Chambers******************************
Now the highest song for Kings Of Leon, from their debut album 'Youth And Young Manhood'. Overall I prefer hairy KOL. This reached #23 in 2003.

********************46 Gorillaz – DARE******************************
Highest appearance for Gorillaz and arguably the best thing Shaun Ryder has ever done, all he had to do was mispronounce 'there' mind you. This was a number one in 2005.

********************45 Electric Six – Danger! High Voltage******************************
Another one to please Daz here, another contender for ultimate MTV2 video. This song had a lot of help from Mark & Lard on Radio 1 but this was an example of the hit making power of MTV2 at this time. It really crazy but this reached #2 in 2002.

********************44 Hope Of The States - Enemies / Friends******************************
In 2004 I checked out quite a few new bands at T in The park but the best new band I saw was these guys. I really thought they would be huge, kind of the middle ground between The Libertines and Arcade Fire. I think people who knew this band had different favourites but this was mine. This was their first top 40 reaching #25 in 2003. Really need to listen to this debut album again.

*******************43 Incubus - Wish You Were Here******************************
I think most people will agree that this is Incubus's best single. It is just so atmospheric and powerful, just love his vocals and the riffs on this. This reached #27 in 2001.

*******************42 CSS - Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above******************************
I don't feel this track has ever gone away, you are never a month away from hearing this on 6Music. The title is even more accurate now that Death From Above has dropped their number. This much loved piece of electro pop only reached #39 in 2006

*******************41 The Dandy Warhols – Bohemian Like You******************************
One of the best Rolling Stones song they never did, this really should be higher. I absolutely loved The Dandy Warhols, I still follow them but they are no more than a lo-fi garage band now, I miss the pop sensibility they had. It peaked #5 in 2001 on re-issue. Thank you Vodafone!!

Sorry LastDreamer you wont see this band after this..
********************40 Bloc Party – Banquet******************************
What a debut single!! But its not even the best debut single in the top 40 there are several more to come. This song is everything that was great about mid 00s indie. It eventually reached #13 in 2005 on re-issue.

********************39 At The Drive-In – One Armed Scissor******************************
One of the heaviest songs on the top 40 and I will be seeing these guys live soon guest support for Royal Blood. This reached #64 in 2000.

I miscounted they still have one more song to come and now it should be pretty obvious which one. I still haven't seen these guys live need to sort that out sometime. Their first hit single this reached #31 in 2000.

******************37 Doves - The Cedar Room***************************
Another debut single the majestic first track from Doves. I actually only had this on a free CD with NME for ages, it seemed like forever the debut album coming out so I could get this. It reached #33 in 2000.

Now everyone I don't care what you say this song is awesome. Never off MTV2 I was desperate for these guys to get a hit with this, we didn't know what was to come, don't blame me. I would say thid is the best grunge song of the 00s. Maybe that is what people have the issue with 'Grunge so 90s duh..' Anyway it reached #4 in 2001

******************35 Phoenix - 1901*************************** I really love this song but it was one of those songs that I seemed to rediscover every time I heard. I woudl hear it on the radio and think I know this is it new? and go wow, and search and its '1901' I must have Shazammed it about three times. Anyway I don't forget now. For me their finest moment. Maybe thats why it wasn't a hit

Never understand that hate about Nickelback. It was 2002 hit, not from 2001.
Which popular and successful indie / britpop / rock weren't mentioned before ?
7th Nation Army ? Mr.Brightside ? Viva La Vida ?
