Brian O'Connell gets the spare ride on Lord Windermere. So no ride in the race for Katie Walsh, who won the Irish National on Easter Monday.

Congrats Andy!
Shame there are always some horses who have to be put down - I like this race less every year because of it

Wow, nice one! How weird that with 20 mins to go before the race, Mel showed me the list of runners and riders and I chose Many Clouds and Rainbow Hunter, not knowing/remembering I'd got the here, should have put £1 on and got £25 back!

Shame there are always some horses who have to be put down - I like this race less every year because of it Balthazar King required treatment after a fall but is hopefully going to be OK. If so, this would be the third Grand National in a row with no fatalities.

Indeed. Had money on Alvarado so made a small profit. My other pick Royale Knight just missed out at 33/1. It's the 7th year in a row Paul Moloney has finished in the first 4 (though he's never won).
Leighton Aspell is the first jockey to win the National two years in a row since Brian Fletcher won on Red Rum in 1973 and 1974.
Balthazar King update: he apparently suffered a kick from another horse after he fell. Being treated by vets at an equine hospital.
