Mark Selby has pulled out of next week's Players Championship and the China Open for "personal reasons". He will be replaced at the Players Championship by Matt Selt, who was next in line on the Order of Merit. At the China Open, his opponent Darryl Hill will receive a bye to the next round.
Mark Allen has won the Players Championship, beating Ricky Walden 10-6 in the final.
The China Open starts on Monday and is the last tournament before the World Championship. After Beijing, the automatic qualifiers and seeings for the Crucible will be finalised. World Championship qualifying starts on 6th April.
China Open draw:
Qualifying round: Ding Junhui v Lee Walker Liang Wenbo v Peter Lines Stuart Bingham v Cao Yupeng
Wildcard round: Martin O'Donnell v Wang Yuchen Andrew Higginson v Yuan Sijun Tian Pengfei v Niu Zhuang Ian Burns v Guan Zhen
1st round: Darryl Hill v James Wattana Jamie Jones v Dominic Dale Michael White v Jack Lisowski Stephen Maguire v Gary Wilson Rhys Clark v Mark Davis Alfie Burden v Joe Perry Mike Dunn v Alan McManus Rory McLeod v Mitchell Mann Judd Trump v Stuart Carrington Anthony McGill v Jimmy Robertson Marco Fu v Yu Delu Robert Milkins v Ross Muir Chris Wakelin v Matt Selt Joe Swail v O'Donnell/Wang Mark King v Ali Carter David Grace v Shaun Murphy Neil Robertson v Noppon Saengkham Ben Woollaston w/o Adam Duffy Martin Gould v Higginson/Yuan Graeme Dott v Matthew Stevens Gerard Greene v David Gilbert Li Hang v Ding/L Walker Mark Joyce v Luca Brecel Zhou Yuelong v John Higgins Barry Hawkins v Tian/Niu Michael Holt v Nigel Bond Ricky Walden w/o Robin Hull Ryan Day v Dechawat Poomjaeng Tom Ford v Kyren Wilson Rod Lawler v Liang/P Lines Burns/Guan v Peter Ebdon Sam Baird v Bingham/Cao
Stephen Maguire v Alfie Burden Judd Trump v Mark King Noppon Saengkham v John Higgins Ricky Walden v Stuart Bingham
If Maguire beats Burden, he will return to the top 16 and qualify automatically for the World Championship. That would push Ding out of the top 16 and he would have to go through three qualifying rounds to reach the Crucible.
Also, if Stuart Bingham wins the tournament, he will become the new world #1, overtaking Mark Selby.
The other 15 automatic Crucible qualifiers are now confirmed: Stuart Bingham Mark Selby Shaun Murphy Neil Robertson Ronnie O'Sullivan Mark Allen Judd Trump John Higgins Joe Perry Ricky Walden Barry Hawkins Martin Gould Mark Williams Marco Fu Michael White
China Open quarter-finals: Stephen Maguire 5-1 Alfie Burden Judd Trump 5-3 Mark King Noppon Saengkham 3-5 John Higgins Ricky Walden 5-1 Stuart Bingham
Semi-finals: Stephen Maguire v Judd Trump John Higgins v Ricky Walden
Maguire's win today takes him back into the top 16 and means Ding Junhui will have to qualify for the World Championship. World Championship qualifying starts on Wednesday with the tournament itself starting on the 16th.
Judd Trump beats Ricky Walden 10-4 to win the China Open. It's his 5th major ranking title and the second time he's won the China Open.
Incidentally, since the China Open returned to the calendar in 2005 as the last event before the World Championship, no China Open winner has gone on to win the World Championship a few weeks later.
The qualifying draw for the World Championship has been made. It follows the same format as last year with 128 players competing over three rounds for the 16 remaining places at the Crucible. A number of wild card places have been awarded once again, including the ladies' world champion Ng On Yee from Hong Kong.
Qualifying starts on Wednesday.
