"Dreaming" for the next # 1, but I'm afraid it's awful Kate Bush.

Rather surprised the Buggles haven't entered as this is the week they are due in. I'm not sure how much you like that song but I can't believe you'll fail to chart it at all. Maybe it will enter in the next chart.
In my chart, Nick Lowe was #1 on this particular week.
You also haven't charted the Jags. That climbed in the UK chart on this week, and reached #1 in mine the following week beating Blondie there.
I'd be rather shocked if I see Lena Martell make any kind of appearance.
You took a long time to chart that Bellamy Brothers song. It reached its peak of #3 on this week after a slow climb.

When an internet campaign was used by UKIP as a tribute to their leader Nigel Farage (& completely missing the point of our subtle Wiltshire sense of satire humour within the lyrics) getting the song back up to the lofty peak of UK #103; Colin Moulding pointedly donated his songwriting royalties from the campaign to a local UK immigration charity.

Blondie got their deserved # 1. No love for "Luton Airport" Will you continue with 80s decade ? Dragonheart's cover version of "Video Killed The Radio Star" was my # 1 in 2005. To Answer your 4 statements/questions. Yep Nope - I thought it was naff then, and a horrid Lorraine Chase novelty cash in, now. Probably - I'm going to take a breather when I get to the end of 1979. But plan to start 1980s thread from beginning of July if not earlier. At the very least I will go to the end of 1983, but I strongly suspect I'll go to at least the end of the decade. That Dragonheart cover is terrible IMHO. Hell I much prefer this 2010 redux track featuring Cheryl Cole's "Ooh Ohhs":

Eleven retro rewind entries from:
- The famously sampled by Madonna (Hung Up) uptempo Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus disco pop track with the lead vocal sung by Agnetha Fältskog topped the charts in Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Switzerland, & Japan. Whilst peaking at UK #3, Australia #8 it was never a single in North America.
- The rockabilly song written by Freddie Mercury in tribute to Elvis Presley, was the lead track from the 1980 album The Game. It topped the charts in the USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico & The Netherlands as well as stalling at UK #2.
- The 2 Tone ska revival band from Coventry featuring the songs of Neol Davies were the voice and rude girl style of Pauline Black and the rhythms of Desmond Brown on the Hammond organ. This debut single made UK #8.
- Taken from their 1979 album Return To Base came this nostalgic melancholic look back of the 1970s and the speculation as to what would occur in the 1980s. Whilst it failed to chart it did provide a winning anthemic template that worked 3 years later.
- The Pleasure Principle electronic album cut was famously used as the musical bed of Basement Jaxx's Where's Your Head At featuring vocals by former members of The Specials.
- The opening track of The Lodger was written as a sarcastic tribute to warmongering leaders who looked for an excuse to go to war. Hence, it was first performed in the immediate aftermath of the Iraq war, where it sentiments could not have been more appropriate. "..... because ignorance is valuable, and our lives are valuable too...."
- The London born rhythm guitarist for Brinsley Schwarz became a roots rock performer and as a result of a USA Tour supporting Dire Straits he reached USA #18 & Canada #44 with the Nick Lowe produced track.
- This Blondie-esque Chinn & Chapman penned melodic rock track culled from the album, Suzi ... and Other Four Letter Words hit UK #11, Australia #4, & USA #41.
- The lead single from Head Games, was written about Elvis Presley. This USA #12 & Canada #14 hard rocker was written by Lou Gramm, Mick Jones, and produced by Roy Thomas Baker, Jones, and Ian McDonald.
- The Tony Mansfield led South London synth pop group madeout of session musicians reached UK #53 with their debut.
- The Post Punk UK #60 single from the album Metal Box was a more "discofied" remake of the original album version.

Some amazing tracks now. "Are 'Friends' Electric?" is perhaps the most unexpected and out-there number 1 of all time, along with "Mouldy Old Dough". Classic example of how TOTP could make a star overnight. Billy Currie (later of Ultravox) was part of the Army band, so I suppose that gives him a no. 1.
And some perfect pop from Blondie (as per) and Buggles. At the time the video for that seemed so, so futuristic. There had been precious few videos so it really stood out. As did the Boomtown Rats one. Easy to overlook that it's almost acoustic.
