The Van T's - Blood Orange
Glasgow based band The Van T’s. Formed in 2013 by twins Hannah and Chloe, The Van T’s released their debut EP ‘Laguna Babe’ in 2015 to widespread praise. Despite their newcomer status, their songs are as revitalised a debut as you could hope for. Rapturous surf-pop with rock swagger balanced by sugar-pop harmonies have won over numerous fans already. With influences ranging from First Aid Kit to Wolf Alice. This is the first single to be taken from July 1st EP Coming Of Age

Tributes have poured in over the last 24 hours since the announcement of the tragic death of The Lapelles frontman Gary Watson.
The singer from East Kilbride fell into the River Clyde on Saturday night (August 13). He was pulled from the water but lost his fight for life in the early hours of Sunday, on what would have been his 22nd birthday.
In a statement yesterday, fellow members of The Lapelles - Jack Anderson, Leon Green, Christopher Ballantyne and Jamie Holmes - said: “It is with shock and sadness that we have to let you know that Gary sadly passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a tragic accident.
"Today was his birthday. We are lost for words and struggling to process it. It doesn’t seem real. Gary was a creative force, a man who without his vision this band wouldn't exist. We have lost a friend, a brother, a hero. At the moment it doesn't seem real. We send our deepest condolences to Gary's family and would appreciate your respect in allowing them & us some peace whilst we grieve.
"Forever in our hearts, with peace you go. X”
The Lapelles were on the cusp of big time success, having played a number of high-profile tour dates and supported the likes of The Last Shadow Puppets, Blossoms, The View and The Kooks. The band were due to undertake a UK tour in October and were to open for The Jesus and Mary Chain in Glasgow later this month.

Cortes - Towers Ok it doesn't get much newer than this, yesterday London trio Cortes unveiled the video for their second track "Towers". Earlier this year they enjoyed a successful BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Festival and a BBC 1 play listed debut single "Close to Nowhere" www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqV7mz85E84 The track marks the band’s first release with independent record label Ignition 45s through Ignition Records, the label that kick started the careers of many up and coming bands including Darlia, Pretty Vicious and Baby Strange

PARTYBABY - Don't Say ItFew groups start out by attempting to write pop hits for Christina Aguilera. But there isn’t an awful lot about PARTYBABY’s early existence that seems especially normal. Noah Gersh and Jamie Schefman were getting sick and tired of doing music. Gersh used to be a member of Portugal. The Man, while Schefman had spent life as a producer and engineer, most notably on 30 Seconds to Mars’ past two records. They built themselves a “nice but sh*t little studio” in Los Angeles, and set about rediscovering enthusiasm for their day jobs. They just released their album Golden Age of Bullshit on the 2nd September, I missed Your Old Man last year when it was released but I Don't Wanna Wait charted highly in my chart I Don't Wanna Wait www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJiVHZ2bDZgYour old man www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJtlpsbD800

Animal House - Heavy
The Brighton-based Aussie garage rock outfit unveil their EP 'Sorry' on November 18, with a video for Heavy released as a pre-taster, although some fans may remember it as the B-side to 2014 single 'Sour' where it reached #24 in my countdown of songs from 2014.

Gallery Circus - Club House KillerA unique and abrasive rock outlet, Gallery Circus have quickly gained a strong reputation for delivering breathtakingly powerful live shows . Hailing from round my way in South Tyneside, Gallery Circus consists of identical twins Daniel and Graeme Ross. Adapting their name from the infamous ‘Gallery Cabaret’ in Logan Square, Chicago, Gallery Circus began in this open mic party spot when the brothers decided to move to the USA and befriend the DIY punk scene, playing shows across makeshift venues in the city. After another year slumming and gigging around America’s west coast, they decided to swim back across the pond and released their début single Supercell www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTdQ99G1n8A This song was featured as Radio 1’s BBC Introducing track of the week and more recently the excellent Holland on Fire www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWR3uGlm2zc
