I always remember being traumatised by Braveheart when I was a kid, just because of that scene were some lady gets her throat slit tied to a post.
But yes anyway, not much going on this episode apart from the incredibly obvious gun heist

Well the finale was pretty good - a few unexpected twists. I even got emotional towards the end despite never liking Maggie or Sasha. Looking forward to Season 8.

I wasn't thrilled by that... also a little disappointed that they're going to drag the Negan storyline out for another season. This season has been so one-dimentional in that respect

That's the problem when you're following the comics, and also it's to show us that Negan is SO much more than the Governor, or the Cannibals, etc. I did wonder if the Short Sentence People (SSP) would turn on them, and where the heck is Alexandria's back door, because everyone and a tiger and horse were coming through it! Better get that closed up or zombies could get in I loved the bit with Sasha, nice game play, nearly worked.

The finale was a bit of a drag at the beginning, the last 20 minutes was practically all the action, one thing that bothers me, how did the Tiger know which people to go for.
I knew Sasha was going to be a goner, that was predictable for me. And I think the Trash people were the ones that were stalking Alexandra in the first half of the series from last year, as I knew there was going to be a double cross coming from them, they must be the ones that were relaying communication with the Saviours.
The character that plays Negan has got a 2 year contract with the series, he was never going to get killed off at the end of this season.

I think fans love Negan and it would've been too formulaic to kill him off. We were all expecting it to work out and Negan get killed to tidy up another season, but it's good the writers switched it up. I agree though it didn't feel like a traditional WD season finale as too much was left unsolved.
One thing always niggles me - during the intense battle at the end, how on earth do people distinguish the good guys from the bad - especially with so many factions.

I disagree that this is 'switching it up'. They did a similar thing with the Govenor.

And also... we don't know for sure that all the people fighting did even distinguish between the different groups. How are we to be certain there was no one killed by friendly fire? Quite possible that there was among the extras.

Humm, guess it was always going to be an ep. that built up rather than hit us hard? It does annoy me when snipers take guys off the roof, but noone shoots Negan the same way? Priest goes into cabin with Negan "shoot him in the head!" Glad to see their use of the herds went a lot better than last time And I'm sure this future glimpse is not a future glimpse, just a drug addled hospital induced kind of thing of how it should have turned out? Standing over two graves as well, we only lost Sasha (as a main character) last time didn't we, so is that another future event?

Great episode, I'm guessing the drug induced bit was the afterlife, or a different turnout of events. When he was standing over the two graves, wasn't that Maggie's other arf that got battered, I have forgotten his name. And the vicar I'm assuming he got battered, as I can't see them getting out of that alive with all the walkers around them

Agreed on your points Andy - I was screaming at the tv for them to just shoot Negan whilst they had a clear shot - I mean come on - he was a sitting duck! Same with the priest... still can't remember his name hahaha.

Not impressed at all with the first episode. But I think they've got too much they'd need to do to bring it back to it's season 3, 4 and 5 glory.

Lots that typically annoys about TWD all distilled into one episode. Everyone has plot armour, so no one can be hurt, walkers can be taken out swiftly with head shots but no one can land a bullet on a single other human, plenty of chances to kill Negan all wasted, lots of ammo used up needlessly (have they got a magic gun/bullet tree now?!) and people taking silly risks. I was glad they seemed to actually have a sensible plan for once, but I wasn't at all clear on this whole "it ends tomorrow" nonsense when clearly, all they've done is allow a load of walkers into Negan's front garden. It was nice to see all the characters in one episode which barely ever happens in this show.

Glad you liked it, but how was it tense? All the major characters were never going to die, it was a day to kill all the red shirts, while Rick and Daryl can dodge bullets while directly in front of a machine gun... And even I could see that they needed to flank Carole, they were 4-1, and when they decide to flank her, let's just use 1 person...

This is pretty much a dreadful season so far, its like shooting each other in every episode, there seem to be a gunfight week on week, it seems its losing direction. Poor Shiva though, you wouldn't think the walkers could tear a tiger to bits, but terrible CGI effects. I'm hoping a key character will get killed off soon, when the mid season break comes in 2 weeks time to spice things up a bit. And a missed opportunity to kill off Negan when they had a clear shot in one of the earlier episodes, its like they are stepping on eggshells.

Okay probably not tense, but the whole Ezekiel escape was kind of exciting. I totally agree with the silly Carol vs 4 others shoot out. That was unrealistic. And hurrah the CGI tiger is no more! That was far too corny for me. Anyway I'm still liking this season.
