24/01/2017 Lily Allen - Going To A Town
Piers Morgan's second least favourite female singer (behind Madonna) has shared a gorgeous cover of Canadian's Rufus Wainwright’s original, which is probably more famous via the late George Michael cover. Produced by Mark Ronson, it comes from the forthcoming various artists album "He's Got The Whole World In His Tiny Hands" (apparently Katy Perry is shooting a video for her track from the album today), the music comes with an accompanying video by the filmmaker Bafic, and features black-and-white images from the Women’s Anti-Trump March on London that took place over the weekend, which Allen participated in.

26/01/2017 Temples - Strange Or Be Forgotten
The English neo-psychedelic rock band signed to Heavenly records who were formed in Kettering in 2012, return with this delightful alternative rock track from their 7th March 2017 release second album Volcano, which will no doubt get embraced by Radio 6 Music and shamefully ignored by Radio 1 like their singles from their debut 2014 UK #7 album Sun Structures were.

Catherine Pierce the blonde haired half of the sisters duo The Pierces releases her debut single, the title track of the aforementioned solo album. She is clearly going for the market which Lana Del Rey has left behind.

30/01/2017 Jamiroquai - Automaton
Jay Kay and his acid jazz funk band are back with their first new material in over 6 years with the title track of their 8th album due to be released on 31 March 2017 through Virgin EMI. I love the update on his trademark hat in the video, and this track is definitely a grower.

31/01/2017 Betsy - Waiting
The Welsh born singer's 4th single is co-written with Jack McManus (whose chart topping wife is angry the BBC snubbed this as a 2017 shortlisted UK Eurovision entry for 6 X-Factor rejects with dull to poor songs). Were the BBC right to ignore this new single by an act whose previous 2 singles had been playlisted by Radio 2, you decide?

I'm disagree. Holly's performance wasn't poor. Maybe not modern, but obviously wasn't bad.

Taken from the 11th studio album Pollinator due for release 7th May is this Debbie Harry & Chris Stein composition co-written by TV On The Radio's David Sitek. Funnily enough if I did not know better it sounds like it had been co-written with Jake Shears of Scissor Sister.
