There is only one god, and his name is Hype. And there is only one thing we say to Hype: not today. BUT SOON.

There were 3 filler episodes from 6-8 but otherwise they were all outstanding in my opinion.
Hopefully that should be resolved by only having 7 episodes his season.

All killer, no filler, not that I thought there was last time...

I watched Season 6 again recently, having re-watched all of the previous ones. I actually really like it. Sure, it had some filler and some HUGELY frustrating bits (still this is GoT, what's new?) but other than that, I thought it was one of the better ones. Stuff finally started happening in most of the main story arcs and other than Gendry (who is probably still off rowing somewhere haha) I think it tied up a lot of the loose ends from previous seasons.

yes, that's GoT, the books are even worse, there are lots and lots of stories that lead nowhere, that's the Martin style

So is Jaime going to have to be a Kingslayer again? Or rather a Queenslayer? Surely when he finds out what she did, and what happened to Tommen, he's going to flip?

Yeah, I think Jaime will kill Cersei eventually (and then most likely die himself). The 'we came into this world together' twin thing, the prophecy about Cersei's nemesis being her brother (Tyrion is too obvious!) and his previous history for not being afraid to kill a king if they were a threat makes that seem highly likely. But I think that'll be Season 8 rather than this season. I hope so, anyway - Cersei is the most interesting 'baddie' left!

Cersei is my favourite character in this show and has been since episode 1, she's so watchable! Her days are clearly numbered, but I hope she makes it to the final season.

Less than a week to go! For reference, what time is everyone watching? Last year I was freelance and could do the 2am Monday ones but alas not any more so it'll have to be the 9pm ones for me Boo to 9-5 desk jobs.

I have Now TV so can watch it anytime once it's been aired, so I'll be up at 7am to watch the 1st ep. rest I'll try and watch live each evening. If this season is the Big war between the factions, maybe season 8 is the battle with the Wites? Cersei is deffo a goner this season imo, and whilst Jamie killing her would be full circle, I'm thinking Arya may pop up and do her assassin thing again? Who's left on her list?

Oooh I've watched it and enjoyed it, setting a few things up nicely, I have a feeling we wont see Arya again until the final episode, but I may of course be well wide of the mark. I wondered if Jaime will kill Cersei, but that it will actually turn out to be Arya, that would be good for shock factor? I'm just thinking out loud... I wont say any more on the show, til others have watched it.

A little dull, but I guess that's inevitable with the first show of a series as they have to remind everyone what is happening. Rather lacking in humour, and no sex at all. Good first 2 minutes though.
Am I the only person who thinks it would be much better without the Whitewalkers nonsense ?

But if you take the whitewalkers nonsense out, would you leave the dragon nonsense in? Great to see the Hound again and the fact that he now seems to have a purpose, was the seen with Arya done to show her there's more to good and bad, the lines are blurred? They were Lannister men, but good people? When she killed all the Frey sons, wow, I just hope Glenn was okay What will Littlefinger do now, and who was Euron off to fight to impress Cersei? Nice to see Jorah Mormont as well, although things aren't looking good for him

Nice to see Jorah Mormont as well, although things aren't looking good for him It's got to be Danaerys and her fleet he's off to attack I reckon. He can get revenge against Yara and Theon and if he gets Tyrion, that's surely the present for Cersei? Dany's army is much larger and stronger than anyone else's it seems, so a big loss against Euron will level the playing field a little.
