HAVEN COMBI RETRO-CHART W/B 26th MAY 1985
So Bryan Ferry’s surprise chart-topper Slave To Love only manages a single week at number one, unable to prevent the inevitable take over at the top by Duran Duran, who earn themselves a record-breaking seventh Retro Chart number one in almost three years, following:
Hungry Like The Wolf – 2 weeks (June 1982)
Save A Prayer – 5 weeks (August 1982)
Rio – 3 weeks (November 1982)
Union Of The Snake – 2 weeks (October 1983)
The Reflex – 5 weeks (April 1984)
The Wild Boys – 2 weeks (November 1984)
A View To A Kill features on every individual chart except one, topping three of them, which helps it push Bryan Ferry to the number two spot this week.
Animotion continue their slow climb up the Top 5 as Obsession moves up another single place to number 3. Marillion enter the Top 5 with Kayleigh as it leap-frogs Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and The Waves, which remains stranded at number 5.
Highest new entry this week is from Mai Tai as History debuts at number 5.
There are some huge climbs into the Top 20 this week, the biggest of which is from OMD as So In Love leaps 21 places to land at number 10.
