HAVEN COMBI RETRO-CHART W/B 16th JUNE 1985
Another new number one as Madonna moves to the top with Crazy For You. It’s a second Retro-Chart number one for Madonna in the space of just three months, following hot on the heels of Material Girl, and becoming the first female solo artist to achieve two number one singles here.
Only five points separated the top three records this week. Sister Sledge were leading for most of the week with Frankie but ended up being pipped at the post, losing out by just a single point.
Last week’s number one, Kayleigh by Marillion, dips to number three after a significant drop in points from last week.
The congestion at the top has shunted OMD down to number four with So In Love and Kool and The Gang are left stranded at number five with Cherish.
Retro-chart favourites Tears For Fears are back with a bang as Head Over Heels debuts at number 10 and hoping to repeat the success of their recent four week chart-topper Everybody Wants To Rule The World.
This week’s biggest climber is from Fine Young Cannibals as Johnny Come Home moves up 13 places to land just outside the Top 5.
